  1. JUst not the Specialized rip offs they selling on the HUb. just wipe it clean dude, besides it looks like you really handled your bike...
  2. Stay away from that 33joe crap. its for woooosies and fannys.... Used that **** at the Oudtshorn 3 day mtb race. Day one. BCAA and the hammer was down until the end, and even then it was still hammering DAy Two 32Gi. i was as dead as a door nail, absolute flat response.... DAy Three BCCA and Anabolic Nitro. and Yeee F&*ken ha Eventually went on to finish 22nd in the GC... So take that crap and go make bunny licks with it. When you take a race car to a race do you put unleaded in it...no hey you use Afgas 110octane with touline
  3. Buy the Rival groupo, swop out the cassette and chain immediately, for the Force stuff. Will cost about R400. but its a helava lot lighter... Leave the fishing stuff to the fishermen
  4. DONT USE SERFAS GLOVES, they do that
  5. and wen she's done she can use her "kreepy crawly" and go round the sides of the bath the clean the bath ring.....hahahahaah
  6. Use 3 bolt config..BUT DONT overtighten You dont need all six
  7. SpoonZa. You really have narrowed the choice down to 2 great bikes. both that competes for podiums and often gets them in international races and world champs. Its been won on a 96, its been won on a Spark, and Spez. other brands have yet to prove themselves. both bikes have race pedigree. But like i said and Wapad has advised, the 96 gives a hard ride, it mimics a hardtail very well, and just takes the edge out of back pain. The Spark also a race bike, brilliant riding with a bit more travel. Kevin Evens personal bike, the one he bought with his personal money. SCOTT SPARK. Sauser has one , Sahm has one . Both brilliant bikes. After my afternoon post to you, i took my spark 40 ( grey one with Dynasys groupo) out to Tokai. I got home feeling very very satisfied, it was just right, everything about that bike is just right im very happy with mine
  8. i have both bikes. the 96 gives a much harder ride than the scott both handles briliantly but the 96 is very very much like a hardtail. and the ones a Kilo lighter than the other. Oh and Hennie. the 96 is called a 96 because of it Max rear travel, but im sure you knew that, Still both are very good, but if the wife were to tell me 1 has to go, with out much thought, ill put the 96 out. Theres something about a Spark others try to imitate, but just dont get it right.
  9. The easiest way to look and learn is to look on Youtube, videos of how to adjust derailleurs
  10. Dont listen to wot we have to say, cause if we all had the same ass, there would only be one saddle on the market. go to your LBS, most have those green Test Fi-Zik's go try them all...
  11. The KCNC's works real well, so well infact, that 84gr diff has taken 17min off my Argus time. And my Aunty knew a guy in Korea who had Bamboo ones at 8gr a piece but his friend stole it from another friend who thought it was fire wood and started a braai with it... some are very easily entertained
  12. YOU guys take wayeeee too much drugs...bordering on dependency. Why is it that the more expensive the product the easier it is for the mind to convince the body that it works?
  13. we in CApe town dont ride, we race,
  14. so wot do you suggest id do to train for the Xtera
  15. Yes he does...and probably at the best price in town.
  16. Johan is right, again, as always... that little seal, can cause alot vulgar words... Dont send it to the shop. do it yourself again...you will get it right..
  17. its 90% rider 10% tire. even if you use small block 8's, technically, if your nose is not right up there stuck in the front riders crack, it wouldnt really matter.... if you gonna fall, its gonna happen, even if you have cat claws on the front. so quit messing around with tire changes, ride the bike more, get to know just how far you can push your luck.. and you'll be faster and safer than the dude that just forked out a huge amount of cash on 2 tires he read about on this forum..
  18. Dude you cant fix a problem with a cream.. get a shorts that fits. Tight. not Slapgat. then as they said, add some cream. Chamois cream, not other crap they telling you to use..
  19. Hey Bman. if you run the tires at the recommended pressure you wont have a problem,, but dont worry, as time goes by you'll learn that. is a Toyota conquest better than a Slk Mercedes .....it is wayeeeee cheaper though...
  20. using RocketRon front and rear for a year now, no issues wot so ever on the Dual Sus using Racing Ralphs on the HT also for a year now, no issues wot so ever. its just that any of the Schwalbes are so bloody good You cant go wrong with them. And wen they are done, ill bu them again
  21. fatter tires is not the answer. world XC racers are racing on Monorails. with no washout. Slow your rebound down a bit. it will solve the problem. if you dont want to do that then go ahead and listen to the peeps here who seems to know alot about nothing. another reason could be under inflation on the front, from 75kg you start at 35psi upwards. irrespective if you are using a tubeless tire or not. Pm me..i will help you out
  22. Tim. go read his question.....i dont think you understand wot he's asking you... Wapad. the 96 is a pure race bike, and yes will give a hard ride on the trail the rear suspension just about take the edge off things. The spez is more comfortable, but not a razor sharp as the 96... this opinion given cause i own both bikes.
  23. if you want power stay with the resin pads.
  24. my fake Spez kit i bought after 4 washes is now pink its cause we entertain and support such K that it survives
  25. Tarmac Sl the blue and black one.. the first one developed a crack at the bottom of the head tube.. replaced by Olympic Cycles The second one BB shell dislodged itself from the frame.. replaced by Olympic cycles the third one cracked at the bottom of the BB Replaced by Olympic cycles... By now i have given up swearing cause i ran our of swear words i made up... fourth one lasted 52 days of which 9 were ride days and 1 a race day, cracked in the BB.. Now The Agents stepped in came to my house and replaced it with a Sl2 Red and Black on. Why the F does my gears not change properly. I get told by the agent im not an Authorized bike builder..."Aw wot a Klap in my face"....benefit of the doubt given... off we go to a new Athorised Spez dealer, pay 350 to get the bike built...guess wot ....thats right the gears.... We look, and look and look...and find the right rear lug and hanger at a very stupid angle. so i get the guy that told me im not an Authorized builder to come and take a look.. HE COMMENTED. I TOOK A CROW BAR AND FLATTENED THE SPEZ. 15 min later my money was transferred into my account. plus extra. I now own a very beautiful Slc sl its just so sad to think that people pay so much money to ride a crap brand.
