  1. I am doing something wrong, I don't see myself coming 3rd. I need to give him a call. Perhaps it's that 18 mins that's costing me...
  2. Lindsay's opinion as well! Easy, do it full time... haha Gift Kelehe is currently coached by John Hamlett and their team has recently bagged Gold at the World Ultra Marathon 100km Championships Race held in Spain, in November 2016 and their team consisting of 5 ultra running legends from South Africa achieved First Place in that 100km event. His current training consists of running 170km weekly and pushes that up to 270km from April until race day in June.
  3. So some rough numbers from Lindsay on milleage numbers per finishers programme: 01/01 - Raceday Finisher - 750 - 1,000 - 750 too light - More like 850 - 950 Bronze - 950 - 1,100 BR - 1,200 - 1,600 Silver - 1,800 - 2,300 (2,000 being the general number)
  4. I enjoy Racefood and Hammer (Endurolytes, Fizz and Perpeteum)
  5. I'm under no illusion that the OMTOM is not going to be a parkrun, but I can see myself adding 14kms on top of what I have done, even if that includes Constantia neck. But adding another 42 on top of the 42 and then another 5 odd for good measure, that maths does not work so lekker....
  6. I also had some sinus/flu the past 2 odd weeks, but luckily it was just above shoulder height. Nothing into the chest so I continued slowly and sweat the bugs out. The 30 long run was quite fun on an "empty tank", but everything is good again now. Well, I will know for sure after Saturday's 42..
  7. I've got that predicament as well.... But somehow the 50 days extra gives me more butterflies in the tummy...
  8. It's going to be terrifying if that does not take your mind of the 100 days...
  9. Yup 104 odd. One thing we cannot have too much of is hills, go klap them... I wish we had longer ones here.
  10. Seems you have the answer Lexx...
  11. It does look like very nice! If you had to choose between the two, which would you do?
  12. Anybody completed both the trail and the ultra the next day in the Two Oceans?
  13. Did you have both race numbers on?
  14. Poobies must have done a nice deal with these Glide 9's, they cost R1,900 - R2,000 otherwise. Fitted them yesterday for interest sake, feels VERY nice. Kinda soft underfoot. https://www.poobienaidoos.co.za/shop/adidas-supernova-9-mens/ https://www.poobienaidoos.co.za/shop/adidas-supernova-mens/
  15. Our fees are R300 for the first family member and R200 for the rest, in total.
  16. This morning was the first time we got wet during a run the last 9 months. Very light but constant drizzle. How de heck do you get yourself to go train in that, constantly.
  17. "10 Weeks to OMTOM" Why does that suddenly sound so short...
  18. WOW https://shop.adidas.co.za/supernova-glide-9-shoes-155477.html
  19. +3 Our annual fees are cheaper than the virtual fees as well, unless I'm going crazy.
  20. A 3:33 for a first marathon..... We are seriously doing something wrong.. Congrats, fantastic result (non-result) that! She will take a LOT of heart from knowing she can do that!
  21. They don't have hidden socks, only long ones?
