Actually I would go one step further and suggest that they need to introduce a lower spec 2x10 groupset in its entirety. For example, cheaper cassette, crankset etc, as opposed to only having a top of the range version of the 2x10. I'd be surprised if they aren't planning on doing so.

Garmin battery life is excellent. If you only want to use it for cycling, I'd go for the Edge 500.

I'm also keen to switch to a double blade setup and not keen on spending the cash on XX. There just don't seem to be too many other nice double setups around. Hopefully Shimano isn't too far behind SRAM on this one.

Trubie, I think that's the same rider we saw, because according to ChampionChip he rides for Midrand Country Cyclists. The guy that I sh@t on was wearing an MCC jersey.

Some clown in the A bunch at Carnival City on Sunday also dropped a gel wrapper. He got a mouthful from myself and Nigel. It really p_sses me off as it is so easy to just put it back in your friggin' pocket. I regret not memorising his race number, looking him up on ChampionChip and putting his name up here. But I will do that next time.

Barend, you are the first person I have come across that's using the road tubeless system. What tires and wheels are you using, and are you happy with the setup? I have a pair of Campy 2-way fit wheels but haven't ventured into the world of road tubeless yet.

Schwalbe make a product called Doc Blue that is supposedly best for road tires, in particular tubbies. I have a bottle sitting in my garage that I can't bring myself to put into my tubbies - I spent a fortune on the wheels for the ride and weight saving, and just can't justify adding 200g to the bike
