  1. Thinking of some slalom riding on large dunes might be a lot of fun!
  2. true, but was amazing to see, haha... really like my bluegrass, and saw the post somewhere on one of those groups
  3. Does one even banjo like this:
  4. Nothing worse on a trail than a poorly built berm! Reminds me, should go hit them G-spot ultra sweet berms today, heard there was some upgrades
  5. Should work just fine, would just crinkle inside somewhere, rather to big, than to small
  6. looks like normal bearings, just pop allen key in and unscrew. just keep track of any spacers and in which order they go back
  7. That looks right, as long as the fork spins freely, everything should be in place. Had a dust cap (read some thin useless plastic strip) on one of my bikes, took it off, as it was just in the way when swopping forks across or would end up hampering fork/bearing movement.
  8. Think you can just pop a normal fork in there, and skinnier tires wold also help a lot... but deep down, you are just asking our blessing to buy a new bike
  9. Buying a complete bike second hand will work out much cheaper and there is very good second hand options around, depending on price range. Upgrading the bike will end up being overly expensive and incompatibility issues. The fork/headtube is a quillheadset which makes upgrading to a shock nearly impossible. But i'd keep the bike, looks like a sweet commuting bike.
  10. That is pretty sweet
  11. Obliviously trolling I assume, using words like 5th World, haha..
  12. The place I get my stuff, also some decent guys: http://bmxdirect.net/
  13. You cant be a "real" freerider without a hardtail DJ/Street bike to perfect your skill on .... Aka Sienjougat without breaking expensive gears/handlebars/brakes/rims... and take the brakes off time to time, to remember why you have them: http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z96/_Olliw_/IMG_6321-1.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7NEzKd7SYt4/TWUYTnk6jnI/AAAAAAAAAI4/oOhCivnnCEE/s1600/IMG_1323.JPG
  14. haha #enduroTrendSetting! definite must watch for all beginners. Awesome video
  15. Some sweet looking bikes with minimal made in East components/frames http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20AC%20von%20Julia%20aus%20der%20Schweiz.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Bike%20Helius%20TB%20von%20Tobias.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20TB%20von%20Kerstin%20aus%20Altdorf.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20TB%20Pinion%20von%20Ju%CC%88rgen%20aus%20Fu%CC%88rstenberg.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20AC%20von%20Uwe.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20TB%20von%20Harro.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Helius%20TB%20von%20Julian%20aus%20Luebbecke.jpg http://radsportkimmerle.de/files/custom_kimmerle/images/Nicolai%20Custom%20Kundenbikes/Nicolai%20Ion%2016.jpg
  16. Seem to have read the term "Softail" a few times here, a fullsus not completely the same as softail, a softail has no pivots http://moots.com/wp-content/uploads/MX-Ybb-1.jpg
  17. Im already getting anxious, for I might leave the Western Cape for the 1st time in 28years to go work somewhere up North in a place called Midrand, hope I can resist the "Darkside" of hate and stress while living up there, haha (starwars reference not racial before even more people start flipping, haha)
  18. Luckily we in coastal areas have a Sea view while driving 20km/h behind something slow. I just turn up the radio, turn down the window and relax while checking for the yoga pants keeping in shape
  19. I've heard its our SA mentality that is wrong, we should treat them like holy cows, instead of nuisance on the road...
  20. Think the heading is a bit misleading... I've had experience with rockshox after sales and they were awesome. One of my chambers in my Lyrik was defective. They removed the whole left chamber and installed a 2013 system in its place. I haven't paid a cent to date to keep my shock running, except the initial purchase. Still running smooth. I only service if I think it needs a service... and there is no way im going t count my hours, haha. I just take my bike and ride
  21. Leave Spez for the posers get a real bike
  22. Ja jis, forgot about the blazer!, blazer on warm winter days or Assembly days were awful, but soldiered through, haha
  23. Delivered newspapers on bike, 5am - 6am, 7am off to school on bike and back. Did this from St1 to around matric. Worst was days I had sports bag and technical drawing board. Was about 6km to school, but a rough hill on the way back
  24. big sacrilege! Was running a 20T at the back the last few weeks, which resulted in a close to the frame setup as well, the jump from 18--> 20, was an odd jump, so couldn't add links, thus had to bring the wheel in. As for change of feel, not to sure, was still shredding like a mean machine, except now I can speed up instead of spinning out. Gears are definitely cheating, haha. After almost 2years SS it was time for a change. Glad I was still able to get the Horizontal dropout frame+hanger combo, see all the new frame are either SS or geared.
  25. Done and Dusted, R2.2k on the bike, installed by LBS. Works like a SS, no chain slap (ran without any stay guard, too listen for slap). No drop, and hit the roughest rock gardens, jumps and SingleTrack I could find while running in heaviest gear. Definite nice upgrade, and hit 4 PR's on the dreaded strava haha Kit: Blackspire mono veloce 32T chaining SLX 11/36 chainring Zee wide ratio derailleur and shifter SLX chain XT gear Housing
