  1. Crappest tyres ever. Worst puncture protection, worst front end grip no matter what the pressure. Throw in bin, replce with X-Kings or Racing Ralphs.
  2. Also look at a SDG Belair (sp). Very comfortable trail saddle.
  3. Put a Lezyne Flow cage on the post with a Continental bottle. You can do Red Bull Rampage with it and the bottle won't fall out.
  4. Not that simple. Mavic's agents in SA are a joke. You can only fit a Mavic hub, and they have to do it for you, and that will need to include a new set of spokes on top of the shipping and build cost if you're not in Cape Town, and Mavic's spokes ain't the cheapest. And this is assuming that it's possible to just buy a suitable hub, and then of course, if they even have stock.
  5. He wants to convert TO a 15mm TA, not FROM it...
  6. No, training 6 solid hours a week but eating McDonalds 6 solid hours a day won't work. As Eldron says, in order to lose weight, you need to create a coloric deficit. If you burn more than you consume, you'll lose weight, the other way around and you'll gain. Nothing can be simpler. Do NOT go the Stanozolol route. I know a guy who know's a guy who reckons it's not worth it. Don't even think about Clenbuterol or Pseudoephedrine, or Mau Huang extract or any stimulants other than Caffiene. It's all banned. Nd it doesn't matter if you're a Pro or if you do a 10 hour 94.7, it's banned, and if you get tested (don't think it only happens at the sharp end of the field), you're a doper, finished n klaar. Read the labels of anything you want to put in your body, and look at the SAIDS banned substance list to make sure all the ingredients are ok. It's a pain in the ass to have to go to so much trouble as a recreational athlete, and that if you want to cycle in any event you can't be a recreational bodybuilder or weed smoker or pill popper or anything but a competitor, but it is what it is.
  7. Some people use Strava to keep track of their training and progress, not just KOM's. They give you an option to log IDT rides so... At least IDT sessions don't count for any of the challenges though.
  8. Aaaah OP, another person who hasn't done it, but speaks as if he knows something about it. You "heard" he only just came off fairy wheels a few months ago and here you are starting threads based on these scientific findings, implying that the race is a Sunday 'peddle' around the block if Frantisek 'born yesterday' Rabon can be racing it. What a tool.
  9. If you fall for these scams you must be really dumb. Same as your cell number winning a lottery etc etc.
  10. A couple of Tdf's too...
  11. Well the 'nob' measuring can stop, I believe we've found the biggest one...
  12. Here you go. For a bit of a laugh. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/133487-scam-randombikesworldwozaonlinecoza-the-pursuit-of-mr-alfred-co/page__st__-16#entry47492
  13. There was a loooong thread a few months back with hubbers stringing these okes on with boat loads of ridiculous questions and requests. I'll try find the link. It's the same syndicate for sure.
  14. Why does it matter to you...? Wanna check out their Facebook profile n post pics of them here...? Take off the hood, put the pitchfork back in the shed and the matches back in the drawer.
  15. Who won...?
  16. At 5am when I'm on tar making my way to the trails, I'm not going to stand and wait at a red light when there isn't a car in sight. I'll slow down, make sure it's safe, and continue through.
  17. Clearly those two aren't hubbers or they'd have known what a *** idea that was. Thought for sure after that whole MTBaaisikilist fiasco people would take doping more seriously and not take chances/be so negligent. Looong drawn out lesson ahead of these lads.
  18. Surely one needs to be proficient at riding a unicycle...? It's not just a matter of buying one and BOOM, problem solved... Probably the best in terms of theft prevention, but the worst in terms of how many sets of spare work clothes you'll need at your disposal. I'd fall my moer off in one of those.
  19. I thing somewhere in the equation, money may have an influence.
  20. He doesn't select his fork manufacturer, the Syndicate does. They also have unlimited access to brand new parts for each run if they like or need. And as Crow said, not much wrong with their coil sprung stuff.
  21. - Don't forget a quick drying towel (those 'super absorbent' camping ones are ok, just wash them at home a couple times before the Epic, otherwise all they'll mostly just move water around on your body when drying yourself) - Also, a head lamp. The ones with an elastic to strap to your noggin, your tent doesn't come with a light inside, and you don't wanna be holding a torch while you need 2 hands to dig through your bag. - A small padlock/s or combination lock/s so you can safely leave your phone/garmin etc charging in the Telkom trailer (get your stuff charging asap after you finish each stage. Everybody leaves it to do on the way to dinner, bad idea). Also locks your bag's zips closed for transportation between villages, as well as your tent between stages that start and finish at the same village. - If you left kit for them to wash, don't forget to collect it as soon as possible. it's never dry, and wont be for as long as its all bundled in the bag, hanging on the fence. If you've got it you can open it all out and hang it on top of your towel, on the roof of your tent. Here's a lil tip I wish somebody gave me. Take a few clothes pegs. You can put stuff on the roof of your tent during the stages where you start and finish in the same village, it'll be dry by the time you're back, but without the pegs, it may be in another province. -I packed all my kit including gloves, socks and buffs in big ziplock bags (available at Westpack), 1 fresh set for each day, that way if for some reason you didn't wash a set (I had 4 sets of kit so washed 2 sets every second day), back into the ziplock it all goes after a stage so it doesn't end up stinking out your entire bag of clean stuff.
  22. Stretch, massage, and supplement with glutamine.
  23. Ill Nino - Two (Vaya Con Dios)
