  1. Such sad news, he was an inspiration to so many young cyclists. Still remember his shop in Bramley when I first started cycling. RIP
  2. Tragic news, my sincerest condolences.

  4. Well said! I'd rather have a well organised event. At the end of the day all we really need from them, other than their organisation, is the race number. I'm not entering for t-shirts and towels and socks.
  5. Don't use Q20. Speak to your LBS, they'll help you.
  6. These are such nice bikes, are they available in SA or is there no agent? Haven't seen one here in years! http://www.mosercycles.com/2010_Moser_collection.htm
  7. Good luck Kieran - you gonna love it!

    94.7

    Someone need a hug?
  9. This will be my 6th. Did a 2:47 last year but doubt I'll beat that this year.
  10. Interesting debate this, I must say I was also sceptical about joining a club and trained on my own for 2 years before I did and I must say I must have been crazy not to have done it sooner purely because its safer, lets face it. I think people should rather underestimate their fitness when starting out, start with the slower groups regardless of if you can go faster and work your way up with each ride, its WAY better than getting dropped and that way you'll meet more people and feel more comfortable instead of worrying if you'll keep up. There are egotistical idiots everywhere and it doesn't mean you need to ride with them so don't let their insecurities become your problem. Not a nice experience for her and good for her for not letting it stand in her way! I'm amazed that some people still insist on not joining a club. Give it a chance.
  11. And especially if it's affecting your chest then don't take a chance, but I'm not a doctor - they'll tell you straight away if you should or shouldn't.
  12. Thats unbelievable!
  13. Stunning pics!
  14. Nice!
  15. Hi Wayne You don't mention what you're upgrading from? There are guys on here who'll be more knowledgeable than I am but I can tell you that Sora is Shimano's entry level, Tiagra is slightly better but if you can afford it then go for 105 and I'm sure everyone will agree with me there. Good luck.sandro2009-09-21 02:26:40
  16. My condolences to family and friends of his. I HATE hearing news like this I think its so sad that such an awesome sport so often leads to tragedies like this.
  17. Wow! Great pics!

Changing from big to small chainring sometimes the chain doesn't seem to catch the small chainring properly and 'slips' if that makes any sense? 'Surfing' over the top is definitely whats happening, taken it back already once so rather gonna find someone else to give the business to, to be honest.

  20. Hi there Who would you guys say is good at servicing road bikes in and around the Jo'burg area? The shop I used to take my bike to (not gonna mention names) just doesn't seem to be up to scratch anymore. Any suggestions?
  21. Thanks! Awesome pics!
  22. Anybody want to predict their time for 94.7 and then compare actual times after the race? Me - 3:00 (starting in L group)
  23. http://images.supersport.co.za/TelkomRouteProfile2006.jpg Hekpoort is near the end after 90km's or so (you can see it on the profile!), unfortunately its not the last climb on the route..
  24. Whatever you do don't let them service your bike, a friend of mine took his son's bike there for a service and they didn't reassemble it properly so when he took it for a test ride in the parking lot the rear wheel section of the bike literally came to pieces and he fell badly and ended up breaking his hand. Public liability 101...
  25. Nice idea, I'll take 10 if I'm not too late...
