  1. With Discovery it takes a year before you qualify as a non-smoker.
  2. Bring back the death penalty already!
  3. Is he still based at that Excel garage just off witkoppen road? I must say he serviced my bike twice and was very good and really well priced. I must say I'm jealous of you guys who service your own bikes though. I used to years ago but I wouldn't know where to start now.
  4. Try pumping your front wheel slightly less than your back wheel (about 10% less). It's because the bulk of your weight is on the back wheel most of the time so it feels not as hard as the front.
  5. Go for the full carbon if you can.
  6. In all seriousness though, you'll know it when you find it.
  7. Love is when you never have to make your own sammiches anymore.
  8. Well done! You don't ask, you don't get.
  9. RIP. If you do one in Jo'burg I'm definitely in.
  10. Ha ha! I'm still having those smoking dreams! Can't believe how little sleep I need these days though.
  11. Ha ha! Drugs, don't knock 'em till you tried 'em?
  12. Stopped for nearly 4 months now after Allen Carr course. Only advice I can tell you is if you're gonna stop then stop completely, don't cut down. Don't change anything about your diet, the only thing that needs to change is the smoking else keep the same routine. You dont need to take any type of substitute or drug either, this is the worst mistake in my opinion because youre giving up one habit for another. The cravings will last for about a week and then it gets easier over time. Just take it one day at a time...
  13. Bike lanes? You got my vote.
  14. Yet to find a shop that delivers good service CONSISTENTLY.
  15. Garmin don't give you Vitality points for training... Just saying.
  16. I'm not in favour of drivers or cyclists getting aggressive. At all. And I agree about riding safely and obeying the road rules. The problem is that a lot of the time big bunches form when there are a lot of cyclists out on the road and these bunches take up too much space unfortuantely. I ride with CycleLab atll the time and I've noticed this. Nobody is intentionally trying to take up too much space, and if they are then they are definitely in the wrong. Make no mistake. Someone mentioned tolerance earlier and thats ll that it comes down to.
  17. In the big picture though, are cyclists really the biggest problem on our roads? Worse tha taxis and the conditions of our roads? Worse than drunk drivers and unlicenced cars? No. We're easy targets for people to moan and point fingers at. Its about priorities. FIrst fix the more important issues at hand and then people can come and complain endlessly.
  18. As much as I understand the fact that too many cyclists riding abreast is not the way to go, I still need to ask myself what the massive deal is that a car actually has to slow down before they can go past? What is the big hurry on a saturday or sunday morning between 6 and 9? Seriously? People need to just learn a little bit of patience actually. I'm so sorry if you're going to be 23 seconds late for breakfast at Mugg and Bean. Like I said, I'm not condoning it at all but if its not putting your life in danger then just grow up, we have much bigger things to worry about.
  19. Massive bunch of cyclists on William Nicol so it must be CycleLab? Come on guys, maybe it was, maybe it wasn't so lets just stop pointing fingers. Some cyclists are prats regardless of which club they ride with. Please.

If they're willing to go the instance thm so am I.
  21. I hear what you guys are saying about cross- chaining but the fact that I shouldn't be using these gears doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to select them. No? That's all that I want, for all the gears to be accessible, whether or not I use them. Chorus is hardly Shimano Sora at the end of the day.
  22. Ha ha! No, it was perfect and basically after it was serviced the gears weren't as smooth and it throws the chain right over the big chainring sometimes and they just not getting it right. And I can't access my biggest sprocket when I'm in big blade and overall its just noisy, especially in big blade. Have decided to take it to Yellow Saddle tomorrow to see what they can do.Thanks Rcky Bobby.
