It all depends on the group and how much time we have before it gets dark. We normally ride from RM to the blockhouse split to,Tafelberg rd and down into deer park and back.

weather is looking 50/50 with allot of mist up there. If there are any takers for a cold and possibly wet ride, I will ride..

New thread on the topic. For anyone who would be interested we have a group ride leaving the lower Gate (parking lot) at Rhodes memorial every Tuesday at 5pm. All welcome.

A info center, ranger/Patroller post would be great. If San parks cant come to the party financing a permanent post/Wendy house, surely a few dedicated individuals could fund raise for the infrastructure required. San parks would still need to green light this. Sadly though if not manned will open itself up to vandalism.

Hey Rob, thanks for your hard work in all of this! I also managed to catch your interview on cape talk this morning discussing the issue of mountain safety. This recent attack has left a sour taste in my mouth as I have been riding from Newlands to signal hill allot going through Rhodes memorial and the mentioned hotspot, I do this by myself a few times a week but now I'm a bit shy to do so with confidence. if there are any regular riders that need company I would be happy to join.

This is sad, I also cannot justify the permit as i don't ride there often enough, but do enjoy the times I do. I usually start at Hazendal but on my last visit they mentioned we can no longer pay or start there, on asking where we could pay they could not give us an answer so we left. We were one of about 3 parties that arrived to ride. This type of management may encourage the "I came all this way so im riding anyway attitude".

My wife bought me a Hero 3 silver and it is currently wrapped under the Christmas tree! she left the slip lying around and the box shape is a giveaway, Christmas eve cant come quick enough, im going to have to practice my surprised face!

Not too worried about the safety aspect, although its worth keeping in mind, but more have company on the odd ride. agreed, maybe i will see you on the mountain.

Does anyone do regular rides in the evenings after work on Table Mountain from Rhodes mem? If anyone is in a group or knows of a group to join please let me know. I'm keen on doing regular rides preferably with company.

Apologies for hi Jacking this thread instead of starting a new one. I am struggling to find rear foot Varus cleat wedges (MTB) in CT, no one seems to carry stock, does anyone have any ideas? another question that someone may be able to shed some light on, I suffer from sesamoiditis and would like to know it the use of wedges will place any more pressure on the balls of my feet?
