  1. This month so far. 10:33 riding time (actually moving forwards) 139km 2,395m climbing My first ride was last 4th Jan. Should hit 13 hours with Thursdays ride. Hopefully.
  2. TBH mate, that's normal. When you're still living in the same space, and going through it, the tension is gonna be high and she will want to restrict contact as MUCH as possible. Even now, as soon as the divorce comes up, my OH stonewalls. No discussion unless with the mediator. Michael, food, alles else is cool. But I think it'll take a while before we treat each other properly again. It felt strange going into the house yesterday when I fetched the little one, and to collect a couple more things. It'll still feel strange for a while. Hope we can feel more at ease when this is over.
  3. Picking up where I left off. December was... well, you all know what it was. It was also a month of excess, minimal exercise and lots of relaxation with the family and friends up in Durban. From mid November at the lightest I've been in 7 years or so, to full on self-sabotage. I got on the scale after I got back, and even though it was a different scale, I knew it was right - I was back up to 104kg. This isn't a pity party though. I've got myself together, and not only can't I afford to eat a lot (moving into my own place and divorce is expensive) I can't afford to carry on waffling like I did last year. So. My goal for January is 25 hours on the bike. I'm already at 8, and I should be at 13 by Thursday. My OTHER goal, is to get back to 100.5kg. I have no idea what my weight is at the moment, 'cos I have no scale to get on to. That's not a priority for me at the moment. Living by myself and having my lightie every 2nd weekend, and every Monday, may be the best thing for this fitness journey yet. Tomorrow, I'm climbing India Venster and back down via Platteklip after work. This weekend, I have my boy, so exercise will be limited to what I can do at home. Body-weight exercises FTW. I'm trusting that this year will be less waffle, and more results. I sure as fk need it. Let's go.
  4. Ill be doing just that after my ride tonight.
  5. This year has started well. Controlling my intake (mostly) and riding a crapload more than any previous year so far. Twice-weekly road or Table Mountain MTB rides (tough bastards) with a weekend long one when I don't have the lightie. When I do have the lightie, I'll have another ride on the Wednesday so that I get 3 rides in, and then on those weekends I want to start hiking with him again. Weight - no idea. Don't have a scale yet. But I think most of December's excess thanks to stress eating & drinking has been overcome.
  6. Just a bit of advice for those getting all up in arms about it and threatening to change - Multiply is NOT Momentum Health. It has no bearing on the benefits you get through them, apart from the health returns. To change providers because your discount isn't as high as it was before, or it's more difficult to ascend the status ladder, is a bit foolish. Yes - by all means throw up your arms for the changes in Multiply. You're well within your rights to do so. But don't conflate the 2 different products.
  7. oooh, eh eh. That's not what I read / saw. That's sucky... I'll go with the Reuters thing...
  8. LTE Apple Watch models are currently only available in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, the UK, and the United States. Apple says availability will expand to other countries next year. And CORE, our local distro, isn't importing them atm.
  9. Ashley Curran of du Plessis & Curran in Kenilworth.
  10. Started Spartacus. Dunno why I hadn't watched it before! Blood, gore & bewbs....
  11. That's a very good price for what looks like a decent bit of kit!
  12. They are. The hot sauce is incredible. Love it.
  13. ai, HW... that's *** news. Not cool. Chin up, one day at a time!
  14. yep. It's not what you see that's important.
  15. Instead of a GF, get a lekker cast iron skillet for your searing / shallow frying. Cheap, bloody useful and they last for EVER. Fat is not bad...
  16. Lyk lekker! Yesterday's dinner was steak and egg, no tjips. Lots of water. That was eaten after I got back from my roadie mission after work, where I was on the bike for another 2 hours trying to keep the HR under control. Managed to forget my water at home, so the last ~30 min were a bit thirsty. So far this year I've had 6 hours on the bike, and done 91.7km. 2 of those 6 were on the MTB, and the 4 on the roadie were at low intensity, just spinning along and getting some base fitness. My goal for this month is to hit 25 hours on the bike, and be fitter and stronger than I've been in a long time. 19 hours to go.
