  1. LIGHTIE!!!! It's the single most popular tyre on EWS, DHI & so on, and is used by the majority of riders. Even those sponsored by other tyre manufacturers often get the Magic Mary, and "blank out" or "sharpie" the white text on the sidewalls so as not to piss their sponsors off. It's THAT good. Especially in Super Gravity guise. Vertstar compound for the ultimate in face-shredding grip, though that'll only last about 12.75 rides due to the extra super soft compound. Trailstar compound is perfect for most all conditions though. Grippier than shaite on a blanket, and with the SG casing, that thing is unbeatable. Definitely going back to that after my Ibex 2.4 FRC has given up the ghost. Oh - and compared to the Hans - BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! For a Hans to be even in the same category of grip, it MUST be mounted on a wide rim (30-35mm internal) and be inflated to super ultra low pressures. THEN it grips. Oh - as for knobs shredding from the tyre - it was a batch problem, and MOST modern tyres are victim to it, unfortunately. Also - no less tyre life than competitors.
  2. I personally think they seriously underestimated the level of interest and work that this would generate. And to skill new people up in it takes a long time, so by the time they're ready the problem would probably have gone!
  3. LOL. I passed him when he messed up a series of root steps.
  4. Because you need to average at least 70% of your age-rated max HR to get to the "moderate" level and at least 80% to get to Vigorous. Otherwise, you limit yourself to 100 points. Yes, yes.. There is an immense amount of feedback going their way by the official channels, and they will most likely change this current allocation to one that is more relevant and is better for longer workouts.
  5. Or, ducatI should work within the tyres constraints. Like everyone else is. They could all up their power by 10% so they have the top end speed and power, but that would be at the expense of the tyres, and give up on their advantage in the corners. So they don't.
  6. Do you shop at WW Or PNP? Sportsmans, dischem, clicks? Any of those would ensure you get more than the original premium back every month. Drop me a mail with your contact details and we can talk. Considering your dietary habits you should be getting more than the average person...

  9. Very strange. Email isn't very clear though. I think it says you can get points for HR data only if you use the gear. But if you use s health on the phone even with an HR strap it has a limit of 100 points. Which is what it says on the website. I'll contact my people on Monday to make sure and report back.
  10. Hate to burst your bubble mate, but that's the old one. The new one has a far better clamp system abd is far slimmer, not to mention that I paid 2400 for it last year... It's still an awesome piece of kit, you're right about that. Hope you enjoy it!
  11. very draggy on the ups, but GRIPPY AS FECK on the back as well...
  12. yeah, I am, but the thing is a lot of bikes look like each other. Doesn't mean they were copied or used it for inspiration - there's only a certain amount of ways you can design a frame, and there are bound to be small similarities here and there. It may look the same at a glance, but when you actually look at it, the differences become obvious. Remember the PinkBike craze #lookslikeasession? EVERYTHING looked like a session. Even though they really didn't.
  13. Different shock mount, on the downtube vs top tube. Bigger rocker, mounted lower. Far bigger stays. And only so many ways to style a bike with a given suspension design. As for the Spez, the Enduro was the first one that made it happen properly, but not a lot of others have followed. And the Stumpy as well.
  14. The thing is, 29ers of that era weren't as capable as the 650's and 6ers of the era. It's only recently (and previously with the Spa Enduro) that they've become better as bike companies have started being less conservative with geometry. Boost also helps with this due to the extra stiffness int eh wheel builds, and better tyres as well. But yes, niners can now be made into good trail bikes.
  15. And their pricing is fantastic, in Euro terms. Just the ZAR that's screwing us at the moment.
  16. Yeah, looks just like a stumpjumper... http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb12233853/p5pb12233853.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb13350540/p5pb13350540.jpg
  17. Not just yet, apparently. Though they'd have to be pretty darn fantastic to beat the full bike prices.
  18. Abslutely frikkin gorgeous. I could see myself getting lost over there. And enjoying every single second
