  1. LOL! Mate of mine did a classic deer-in-the-headlights move on a bridge that was in Tokai. It was a curved bridge, with a lekker camber to it as well. Just fixated on the edge and went OTB into a river. He is called FallStaff to this day.
  2. what happened to the flat pedals you were getting? Given up already?
  3. In order to wear them and not be labelled a poser, can you tell me what 2FO stands for, please?
  4. Nope. Just even more weight weenie. No difference in damping except for introducing a lower end one
  5. Narrower profile and step at the bottom Oh and only accept a max 2.3 tyre
  6. That smaller package is where the large majority of the half-pound weight savings come from, but it's also obvious that some torsional rigidity is going to be lost compared to the previous year's 32. How much? Fox doesn't want to share the exact numbers with me, but they did say that the 32 Step-Cast is comparable to a 2015 32 when talking about equal fore and aft forces, but with slightly less torsional rigidity.
  7. Starting at 1,355g, the 32 Step- Cast (SC) fork is our lightest cross- country fork ever. Optimized for 100 mm of travel, the Step-Cast lower leg design and narrow crown spacing save weight while the 32 mm upper tubes maintain FOX ride quality. Click here to view the article
  8. Emphasis on almost. Even if there's just one tree left standing on a compartment (pine or gum) or on a compartment bordering a trail or road, the contractors have control of it. Only when it's cleared entirely does parks retain control and we can get access to it.
  9. As with all trails though, difficulty increases with speed. So its as difficult as you want it to be but the above is what if rate the ones I've ridden
  10. If you're caught on Bloemendaler before its finished you probably will have your membership revoked
  11. Meerendal = 1 Bloemendal = 2/3 Bloemendaler = 3 Hoogekraal = 4 if you include cobra, otherwise 2 Contermanskloof blue = 2 Contermanskloof black = 6 to 7 Contermanskloof main line (from mast) = 8 But main line is mostly beyond me and I do the b lines all the way down
  12. Ou wa pad has been open for about 4 months, as is Silvermine Dam / Noordhoek Loop... It's just the access to silvermine gate through Tokai that's not open yet. Need to go up OKW.
  13. I think it was blocked by the horsies etc. Deon & Mark know a LOT more on this, as they've been dealing with it full time.
  14. We're still at the mercy of the loggers. As long as they say no to entry in that area, then we can't go there. Even if it's just one tree that still stands in that compartment they can legitimately say there is a safety issue due to the equipment and logging. I know, I know...
  15. There was a proposal to open up a portion of it, to allow easier access via jeep track to the Nordhoek loop. This was, AFAIK, blocked by residents and horse riders. The forest itself was not going to open up in March.
  16. Yeah, was exhausted and tbh after my stupid crash at Hoogies I've been battling to get my confidence back on the smallest things. Enduro helped with that HUGELY over the weekend. As for the trail - no surprises. Can be ridden blind at some pretty good pace without any nasty surprises. Black trail I'd say scope before you pin it.
  17. LOL. Cos that was the 2nd time down. By that stage we'd done 600m climbing or so in a space of ~15km. Which, for my fitness level, is a lot! No speed in the corners (working on that) and just no pluk to pedal. Oh - and the dust - this was following the first proper rains of winter / autumn. If this is how the trails are gonna be after the rain, I WANT MORE!!!
