  1. fark, dude. That's not cool. In our office, as soon as one of us has signs of something more than just a cold, even if it's a very runny nose, we go home. Not worth working when you're like that.
  2. yeah but Dave, you're one of the few that will actually follow that up and pitch on the day... You have to admit that the ratio of physically active vs verbally active is so low it's laughable. If you say "we're pulling aliens this weekend" it'll be even worse...
  3. you mean that the time cost is 29,000 man days? AKA 290,000 man hours @ 10 hours a day?
  4. yeah, that was a REALLY impressive ride back from the middle of the pack. Shows how strong he is.
  5. don't worry about the vit c, and concentrate on Zinc. Vit C we get more than enough of from our diets, and it's the Zinc that really boosts the anti-flu stuffs. Oh - and the flu vac sometimes does bring about a dose of mild flu, but it vaccinates you against the full blown stuff. Which is NASTY.
  6. Yeah, and when guys like Karl Platt saying it's only a matter of time due to the advantage you get on the tech sections, you know it's starting properly.
  7. Reto & Vince, wasn't it? Add to that that the trees aren't actually theirs to remove, nor is the speed at which the independent contractors remove all the pine. The contract still has a number of years to run before they (the contractors) "MUST" remove all the trees. Parks are in charge of and planning for the removal of the aliens. It's just a much bigger problem than I think anyone thought it would be.
  8. I just find it highly ironic, that's all. The answer to a non-prescribed burn, which took place at a time when the prescribed burn was overdue, is to do another burn... Only this time, it'll be prescribed. So different to a non prescribed burn in that it's... prescribed. A burn to fix the burn to fix the... Oh wait. Nevermind... I know ehat Parks will say to that. Sigh. #aliensmustfall
  9. With that Joplin attached, I'm surprized the Boxxer hasn't spilled its guts already...
  10. LOL. Yeah, I know. I was conflicted when writing that. In order to do it properly, they would have to drastically reduce the power output of the engines, or have super-human throttle control (a la 500cc okies back in the day) ABS would definitely be necessary in the wet... So ja. I dunno. I'd LIKE to see it without t/c, but I know it'd have to be subject to major changes in power delivery and so on.
  11. Same. Also, traction control and ABS. They're racers, FFS.
  12. then what's your average HR during the effort? If it's less than 80%, then you'll only get the 100 points. But yeah. I agree that for some of us, the 80% is not an achievable target unless you're going flat out. And even then, sometimes not. For the target market though, 80% is very very simple to achieve.
  13. Are you using an HR monitor that is on the accepted list? No? Then all that you will get is the 100 points, as discussed at length.
  14. I'm having a rethink of my approach to this. Gym fees at the national rate are approx R 200 per month. If I have a national membership, I can go to my local gym and also the one close by work. Going there after work is a shedload easier than negotiating rush hour traffic and THEN hitting gym. And I still want to keep my local gym, as I take my lightie swimming sometimes (my wife does that more often as she has the time) Decisions decisions....
  15. 30mm should be sufficient. Wide lightning at 32mm will also transform xc tyres to something resembling grip
  16. Bit of an over-reaction from her part, but I understand the feeling. She must feel betrayed, in some way. I just hope (yes, I do) that Disco take all of this dissatisfaction on board and take note of the reduction in activity from those they are trying hardest to meet ito increased fitness...
  17. I downgraded to single club specifically due to this. And I don't use the roaming sufficiently to warrant the extra.
  18. Lol. Give it an hour or 2. But you can clearly see he's been working on his initial game. First in quali, strong first half and just taking it up another level. Plus it's the first race he had with the winglets
  19. Yes, but remember that those frames have VERY low seat tubes and as such their high is like a normal bike with the saddle dropped a good 100mm or so. But they also run them that "high" so they can use the saddle to manipulate the bike in the air with their legs. Also slopestyle and dj guys whip and spin their bikes. A high saddle is anathema to that
  20. But no. 125 is sufficient for pretty much everywhere. And you know it fits!
  21. Aaaaaand Rossi gives Jorge a stiff dose of his own medicine
  22. That's all it is. I would dearly like the new 170mm reverb, but tbh the ticket price is far more than I'm comfortable with and I cannot honestly say that I need that extra 20mm drop over what I have. Would be nice for DH days, but meh. Far rather spend elsewhere if at all.
