  1. Don't need to be in the market to know it's the truth.
  2. What unit are we using? Pi? If so I'll be there.
  3. I am SUPER glad those are now being brought in! Was looking for those when I bought a few years back and opted for the boomslangs instead. If these are here, and my boomslangs need replacement, then I'll be getting them sharpish.
  4. Used to be, no longer. Didn't renew for 2019 or this year. I remain a casual user and contermanskloof & hoogies remain two of my preferred trail centres
  5. That should not be the only path available to give feedback or suggestions to a club. Besides, I'm sure I'd be a shoe-in. ???? Also no desire to go to another AGM (or even purchase a membership) unless there's a marked change in the receipt of aforementioned feedback.
  6. But this is the thing. We agree on that. This just entails among other things a request for more variety, and more transparency. That is all. What the response to those and other logical requests have been (as well as the rabid defence that comes from some fervent Tygerberg members) is where the trouble starts.
  7. You got me on one of my own "rules", shaper...
  8. LOL, there was a time where nobody would take their bike to Solomons for a service 'cos their rep was, shall we say, earned. Glad to hear it's been rectified!
  9. That's not entirely surprising, knowing of Solomons' reputation when it comes to that sorta thing...
  10. Yup. It's why I don't renew my membership, and just pay day-rates at Conters or Hoogies.
  11. This IS the somewhere else, Nick. Threads on FB get deleted, TBMTB staff insult ppl for asking legitimate questions and then comments are completely banned. There's no forum for suggestions / discussions at teh AGMs (when I used to go) & all that happens is that they tell us what is planned for the next year. We get told that the committee doesn't answer to us, we elected them and therefore we must let them do what they think is best without question. Decent, well reasoned arguments and discussions are met with TBMTB IS THE GREATEST, STFU and RIDE YOUR BIKE. Lawyers letters are sent to get people to keep quiet, or get out. Direct discussions with them are met with deflection, derision & ad hominems. All this, thanks to a request for one or two more technical trails on the network? No. It seems that all that's allowed when referencing TBMTB is sunshine and rainbows. If you question, you are the enemy. Sad, really.
  12. This. You don't need the female bolt when fitting those threaded chainrings. Those protruding threaded bits locate into the back of the crank, in place of the female bolts.
  13. THIS. So that, you know, people can progress within a single ecosystem and have any type of trail, be it slow tech or fast flow. And everything inbetween.
  14. Yeah, with TM itself (slick rock / granite; TP Trail; Walter's Walk; Mother in Law; Glen; Other Woman; Rupert's Revenge; Rupert's Folly etc etc etc it's best to go with someone who knows it, as there aren't any signs or direction markers, because they're all community-built trails that get developed over time. No central group / club formalising trail markers etc like you get at Tygerberg / Tokai.
  15. The day permit from Table Mountain (which incl Tokai) is retarded. No argument there. But if you club yourself and 3 others together for a group application, it works out to R350 each per year. That permit applies to the whole of TM trails, not just Tokai.
  16. yeah, cos they can't delete stuff they don't wanna hear about. Honestly, Skubs, it's the same thing all the time. Anything constructive or critical of the club is met with almost fervent rhetoric and pushback. The club DOES do good things. The sponsorship of the xco and wpenduro series being one, the selection of green and mild blue trail being another. But gosh darn, you'd better not ask for more tech or proper gradings. No, not even on a 120km plus trail network can it be incorporated. Just ride faster, is the answer.
  17. From experience, yes. This is the case. The same answers are given when those questions are asked. Pre ordained, as it were.
  18. Cos you forgot your chinnie and had your microwife shiiiiiiiiiiit on you afterwards.
  19. ? The range is far from those places. ???? Unless you're talking about the dog-poo bullets and old codgers in their 70s
  20. It's simple. Tygerberg will not build technical trails. We're continually being told that we're not thankful for the loads of trail on offer (not true, we are) or to "ride faster" if we want more tech (not helpful when we've repeatedly asked for more SLOW tech trails) To get Status levels of tech you're pretty much restricted to that, or some trails on Table Mountain like Mother in Law, The Other Woman and so on. There have been requests, track walks (on Sunday rides WITH Patrick) and scouting missions in an attempt to get at least a small tech trail in on one of the farms, but it's always met with derision. Always. I don't count Conters in this as there's a fair amount of variation on the trails and it hosts the network's most tech trails, revised and kloof being my favourite in the network as a whole. There is PLENTY vert on offer. The potential at hoogies alone is breathtaking.
