  1. Personally, I think the Foxy XR would be the better one of the Mondrakers. http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/products/11747/photos/10622/s780_2013_Mondraker_Foxy_XR.jpg?1360095353 Or the Dune http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R6YCTm03pYs/Ue0nqV_8reI/AAAAAAAAOXk/4GOw4rpQRPc/s1600/Dune+2014.jpg
  2. More from the amount of force being applied to get them to bite. Agreed on when the pads make contact, but if there's oil or contamination or just a combination of a bad bleed and improperly bedded pads, it may contribute to the braking force only being felt at that point (v close to the bars) But if you read my post again I say "probably air in the system AND improperly bedded pads" as in both things.
  3. Plus you'd get people putting rocks and sticks and stuff in that stupid "slider" area...
  4. Yeah. Air bubbles have a habit of locking on to ANYTHING they can. Especially in an oil mixture. Stubborn little feckers. And if you rush the job, no matter which system you're using, you'll introduce more air into the system and be at sq 1 again
  5. It could, yes - but it may be an air leak. Allowing air in to the system, rather than oil out.
  6. Where's our resident Customs employee to comment?
  7. Just the rim? Stoke would be a good bet. They can get them through International Trade for you.
  8. And yet again, that would be committing fraud. You won't get jail time for it, but SARS / Customs will sure make you pay. Duties on full bikes are at 30% of the value, plus VAT. Remember to ask the guys to take the VAT off, or claim it back from the little VAT recovery department at the airport. Saying that, even though it's immoral, you will probably get away with it and not have to pay anything. But if you get caught... Don't tell us we didn't warn you. EDIT: Oh - and if you have a bike coming back, where you didn't have one going out, you will need to declare. It's normally noted against your departure that you have a bicycle / golf clubs etc etc.
  9. You'll probably find that there's just ONE little bubble left somewhere in the system that's just farking it up for you. That, or you have a leak somewhere...
  10. Lol! The thing is, some of the balls we are facing are so wide, they're going to silly mid before the batsman has even had a chance to see the approach!
  11. And? I've also had shimano (my wife has them on her bike) as well as tektro. Now THOSE were crap. In the avid stable - elixir 5, xx + code. The OP's problem could occur with any brand. Maybe a bit of diet stuck next to the piston, but most probably air in the system and improperly bedded pads
  12. All I can see on the autostyle website is the Fenix 1... can tell it apart cos the Fenix 2 is exclusively a black background watch. The one shown is black text...
  13. Only difference - wheel size. 275 is (unfortunately, thanks to local distributor short sightedness) outpacing 26" ito tyre choices, but only locally. Essentially, it all comes down to what you ride. And how you ride. Wheel size should be the last concern, after geometry, travel, etc etc.
  14. Bull. Crap. Either a bleed (which Shimanos don't like) or a case of contaminated pads (which affect shimano equally as much) or you didn't bed them in properly (which would - FANCY THAT!!! - Also affect shimano)
  15. No disagreement here... reckon the stance will be a very good value offering.
  16. Welcome back from the Kalahari, ou! The Latent EdEdEd is back!
  17. I was going to answer for you, but I forgot what wheels you're rolling on!
  18. BAHAHAHAHA!!! Ask Dragons if they can swap you out for a 650b frame instead of the niner. Sell your old stuff (forks, wheels) and then build everything else across, and you have a 6 fiddy of your own.
  19. only question - what type of riding do you like to do?
  20. BAHAHAHAHA!!! I know that feeling. Just hearing that little giggle when you're a make a mistake mid corner and he's THERE.
