  1. From Superstar... Hello im sorry you feel that way but unfortunately our change in policy is purely based on simple facts. If we use RM tracked it is only tracked to the country and then disappears, there is no traceable proof of delivery. Also it is much tighter on size and weight of parcels excluding lots of our range. Due to the huge number of parcels which are “lost” (I say lost I presume lots get there but then people demand a refund, we actually stopped shipping to Israel as a group on a forum were openly publishing that they were ripping us off..), then we have to refund. So for these reasons royal mail is out. Because couriers have to go through customs it costs a lot, and the price listed is the price we pay (sometimes we pay more for large items). UPS is the only way we know 100% of our parcels get there safely, unfortunately its expensive. We added up all our overseas sales, refunds and costs, and we worked out due to the losses we were making a loss on every product we sold. We couldn’t continue on this loss making and bad customer service basis, so now everything must go UPS. 2. If the neg pressure exceeds the pos pressure, it pulls the fork down into its travel. Normal for a dual air fork for that to happen. To remedy it, take out all the neg air, set sag on positive air pressure only and then pump up neg air to 0-5 psi below the pos air pressure.
  3. Just mailed them, asking them to include a cheaper, slower option so we don't have to get raped by shipping costs. That's 2 sets of pedals, just for the shipping. As for the tracking, I've noticed that they switched to untracked RM shipping over the course of the last 2 years. Their reasons for switching to UPS were cited as non delivery and slow delivery, as well as missing packages - the switch to non-tracked would have been the primary driver for that uptick in missing / stolen deliveries. If they just went back to tracked RM, or even Parcelforce, it'd be a different story.
  4. The down side of taking time off work to look after your sick lightie. You get whatever bug he had
  5. Slow down the rebound a bit. I'm sure that's what helped me towards my recent fail - a rebound set too fast
  6. I've found that it depends on the speed I'm going. The slower I am, the less the rebound speed matters, and the mess the compression damping matters. But - as a starting point, assuming an average speed - it all depends on the fork and shock, and what you're riding Rebound should never be "poppy" and compression adjustment should be just off medium, so as to prevent it from looking like a pogo stick. Low speed compression should be ramped up more than high speed compression (as it controls how fast the fork compresses under braking / pedalling forces, whereas the high speed compression needs to be as active as possible to allow sensitivity over rapid changes in environment) Hope that helps...
  7. Yeah, but I bought mine 2nd hand, so the warranty doesn't apply to me. My point is - the "lifetiime guarantee" is highly subjective. It takes into account the type of riding a artivular bike may have done, and the amount of time a particular frame is, on average, likely to spend in a single person's hands. Frame issues can be sorted. Momsen have done it, Giant have done it on their Anthem frames that broke at the top tube / seat tube junction, and have replaced some linkages on the Reign X (my era) when they broke due to a design flaw that only came to light under repetitive pedalling action, thanks to a cutout that was put iin to clear an ISCG mount. But yeah - lifetime does not equal YOUR lifetime. It's the commonly accepted lifetime of a frame, as set out by Spaz (and other Lifetime Gtee backers) in the hands of the original owner.
  8. Lifetime, according to specialized. They assume what the regular "life cycle" of a frame would be in the primary owner's hands, and then cut it at that. Probably find it's around the 3 to 5 year range. EDIT: That's the same for any company that boasts a "lifetime" guarantee... It's not worth the paper / email it's written on. There may be exceptions in certain places, of course.
  9. Yeah. I like doing stuff myself, so I may just look for fat offcuts and do the rendering.
  10. I must look for a stockist of ghee, or just render my own fat
  11. RIP Shown. Our thoughts are with you and your family in this time of need.
  12. Yo Brawler. Of the options I'd go for the 2015 t2 650. Don't need to upgrade the brakes / wheels just yet, the deore brakes have the same internals ss the current slx which are really good stoppers, and the wheels are strong. Heavy ish, but strong. Just put some 203mm rotors on and you'll be fine. The fork will sell easily now that it's not an OD2 Also. The enduro 650 has the same front triangle as the 26" enduro, not the 29. Whoever told you that it's the same frame as the niner needs to check their facts before telling you anything.

  14. Because they know wagon wheels were for the wild west?
  15. You can't put a shimano cassette on a campy freehub and vice versa. Also - shifters and mechs aren't compatible. In short. Don't mix them
  16. A bush mechanic way of getting the star nut in. Get a Smallish Phillips screwdriver, and poke it into the hole. Then line up the star nut and start tapping slowly (but quite forcefully) so that you ease the star nut in to the steerer. Stop klapping it when the top of the nut is 5mm or so below the lip of the steerer.
  17. OOOOH!!! No - don't sell it! Tokai, Jonkershoek, Steilte Trails, garden route trail park, Contermanskloof, Majik Forest, G Spot and a few places in Tygerberg trails. In short - everywhere. The Cape is spoilt when it comes to trails, and it's only going to get better with people like Mark Gordon and other fantastic trail builders around here...
