  1. Pronouncing how the little globules of whateverthestuffinsideactuallyis just make the dining experience SOOO much better
  2. Yeah, it's a possibility. But I wouldn't put it past them. Now that Ruda & Derek aren't really doing the investigative stuff... I just hope they don't film outside CL though. Speaking to Andrew or someone else from CL would be sufficient.
  3. Just in general terms, Wyatt. Things to look out for, measures to put in to place, etc etc. Also reiterate teh difference between fake, grey and blank frames. Blanks & grey = fine. Fake = not...
  4. WTF was she doing in front of cycle lab though? Shouldn't even be anywhere near that name unless they're implicated, which I doubt. Yet another reason I've lost respect for CB. No effort to check the details before latching onto a story, and perfectly happy to film in front of "a cycle shop" that has nothing to do with it at all.
  5. Yep. TnT are also great. As is Epic Bike Shop in Wynberg, now moved to the space above Suzuki South in main road. Lance is a legend mech.
  6. That's not the point though. A fake item made in the same factory as the original and passed off as something else is perfectly above board, as long as certain changes are made so that it is discernible from the original item, and it is not marketed as the original item. If it is exactly the same, and made in the same factory with the same tools and same materials (all re same down to quality of materials and such) and marketed under a different name as a cheaper item than the original but still by the original parent company (ex makita vs maktec) then that's a problem. However. When an item is manufactured with however many changes to the original item and labelled as the original, then we have a problem. In this case we are dealing with scenario b. A blatant copy, with various structural and visual differences being marketed as the original item. Ie: fake.
  7. No. CWC cover you from that perspective. Often better than the distributor can or will
  8. Exactly. They import directly from the supplier and choose to bypass the local distributor. It's still a mavic wheel. They just choose not to use the local distribution channel. It is therefore a grey import.
  9. Okay. Seems I came to the party a bit late. TO answer someone else on Fake grey vs Legit Grey - no such thing as "fake Grey" imports. A fake is a fake. End of. There is no legitimate distribution model for fake or counterfeit goods, due to their properties of being, well, fake. Grey imports are imports of legitimate items (not fakes) through non official channels. If people don't get it by now, I give up/.
  10. FFS. When will people get it right?! A grey import is NOT A FAKE ITEM. A GREY IMPORT is the GENUINE item, brought in directly, through avenues other than the official licensed distribution channel. AKA - grey lines / unofficial avenues. IT IS NOT A FAKE. It is made by the same company, from teh same material, to the same specifications, just delivered through a different channel. If you bought a Toyota from Japan and imported it here, it would be considered a GREY import. A FAKE is just that - not the real thing, copied, altered, whatever blah blah blah. It is not the original item, nor is it made by the same company. IT IS FAKE. I repeat. A GREY IMPORT IS NOT A FAKE ITEM!!! Get your terminology right, for heavens sake.
  11. erm... being doff here, maybe - but why can't you use a campy 11 speed cluster with an 11speed campy chain on a shimano gruppo? You don't HAVE to take the shimano cassette...
  12. What wheels do you have at the moment, and what gruppo do you have at the moment? Normally it's best to do the wheels first and foremost - they have the most effect on a ride of the 2 options you've given
  13. Look no further than Action Cycles. Really good bunch of okes. Small shop, but really passionate and on the ball. Brilliant service every time.
  14. I love the sound of crickets at night. Like bullfrogs. If they're there, it just reminds me that you're in nature's playground. They have the same effect on me as the sound of crashing waves on a beach resort or running water in a river. Calming as feck. Reminds me of camping in the berg, midmar dam and so on. A reminder that all is right int he world at that specific point in time...
  15. I have the precursor to all these Enduro lids - the Bell Faction. Yes it's hot. Yes, it's got less venting than your local fish n chip shop. But it works. And it has the proper protection value I'm looking for. Best of all - it's DIRT cheap. http://legrandcycle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/MBK213.tested.sixbell_cw-399-75.jpg
  16. Exactly the same shape. Works well (when I ride, that is) Would probably be better to make it out of a less rigid plastic, so it doesn't crack as easily. Like the plastic that those clear jerry cans are made of. Polyprop I think... Not too well versed on the properties of different plastics anymore.
  17. I have one of the mucky nuts replicas on my bike. It has a slightly extended front portion that is supposed to help with stuff thrown forward by the tire. It ensures that you don't ride into anything that you fling forward (BIG problem if you run big tires and ride in mud / wet sand)
  18. could be. But then Thule are one of those companies that have a RRP for their products
