  1. Lol! I took it as being dunked in surfing terms. As in pulling in to your wave etc. but basketball analogy fits!
  2. Top fuel - he was the better rider by far, and he took a clear opportunity o overtake. Nothing wrong with that especially considering the style and physicality of 4x
  3. What bike do you ride? Xc / trail / all mountain? If anything other than xc it won't work as the bike fits go on an xc race setting and the settings do not transfer across to the other disciplines.
  4. Yeah, sorta dude. Except I wouldn't recommend a race bike to someone who doesn't race for a living. Far more twitchy, not as versatile and therefore not as "fun" 'cos you can't use it as much as you could another, more well suited bike. But that's just me. If you're pootling around, then go for something more comfortable, more versatile and more capable. If you're ONLY going to be racing, then go for the one that's built around that. But don't complain when you find out that it's a mono-use jobbie, and only good for one aspect.
  5. nope nope! The Reign is the commin one. The Reign X is like stardust.
  6. Tubeless, being in the Tokai trail maintenance team it's more like a 95:5 rule. 95% bitch about the trails (or have an "expert" opinion) but only 5% will be prepared to put in come build day, where the real input happens. EDIT: Not saying that there SHOULDN'T be more yellow / green routes, that's a given. Or, at least the existing "technical" trails should be made more progressive so that people can learn...
  7. Needs more than a beer - try a brain swap, cos at that price demand he's clearly craaaaaaazy!
  8. Nope. Newer trend is to DECREASE head tube angle and chain stay length. Decrease as on go to lower numbers. You see a lot more xc bikes coming out at 68/69 degrees whereas before they were solidly around the 71/72 mark.
  9. Hmmmm. Appreciate that, but I have to disagree. The pyga is one sexy beast. Plus the vipa's head tube looks as its been deformed. But I suspect that's because I have an aversion to any bike with a ht angle of more than 69 degrees.
  10. Craig, if you want an honest opinion on what the trance 29er can do, and is capable of, give Daniel Dobinson of iride Africa a call. He tested one for quote a while and was blown away by its capabilities. Personally I'd keep the trance niner. It's one helluva capable bike from what I've been told (and read) and it will continue to be so. Plus you'll have a collectors item soon
  11. Haha! I've already had offers. From a straight swap for a bike worth twice as much to a swap for a bike 50% more than its worth. So yeah. I think it qualifies
  12. Lol. Dude. The general rule is that anyone wearing one cannot back it up for shizz. Sorta like an "I'm a tuff oke cos I can laaik to buy a tappit shirt from da interweb" but backs off as soon as you take things to the next level. Not to say that there aren't ppl who GENUINELY use and wear tapout stuff in the place it should be worn (in the octagon and the ring) but you know what I mean.
  13. My giant reign x is a collectors item... Only a few of them in the country.
  14. Tappit is anyone wearing a shirt like MTB baaisiklists's avatar...
  15. Totally different bike. One is a pure race machine the other is a pure trail machine that can punch in both xc and marathon. Stay pyga! Far more versatile bike.
  16. Would have seen more use if it had been given to the homeless.
  17. Jack, come now. Enough to know that stupid, un-necessary "design" attributes like this are doomed to fail. I have enough of an engineering background to know *** when I see it. Pure, unadulterated design faux pas. In the pursuit of difference.
