  1. KE must maybe get one of the top 20 world marathon champs as a team member to have a crack at winning the cape epic.
  2. I hope JR gets the support that he deserve to continue racing on world cup level!! He really has potential..... DAMN you know, wil sommer vir DG een vet klap gee...
  3. Sorry for the dump question: With all the prize money that KE and DG earned together the last 2 months, Will KE also loose his share of the prize?
  4. Totally agree! Lets hope MTB stays clean
  5. I mainly do cycling and bit of running, but not swimming, so I bought a Polar RC3 2 days ago. It is wrist unit, Lightweight, but not recommended for swimming as it is not waterproof. That is the reason why I decided to go for this "all-in-one" device. I went out for a ride yesterday. When I got home download ride onto polarpersonaltrainer. Then I found out it does do everything except elevation. I did research and found out this device does not barometer and cannot do elevation while riding. (That is semi OK). I then thought I can see elevation within polar dairy, still not. I've exported the GPX file from the device, and import it into Google Earth, and only there you can see the elevation. I'am disappointed due to the fact it does not plot the elevation within the polarpersonaltrainer software. It does plot the route onto google maps, but not the elevation. I'am still researching a way to combine the elevation into my diary... It is not nice to have 2 sets of data at different locations. It elevation is not important for you, and you not going to swim, then this device is nice.
  6. Hi Andy, I've replaced my XTR rings earlier this year with middleburn rings from CRC. They where about 1/3 of the price as the original XTR blades (and only weight around 20-30g more for all 3 blades than the original blades) No issues with shifting. I've also replaced the chain and casette all in once. First replacement of the chain rings in 7 years. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Kits.aspx?ModelID=7097
  7. It looks awesome! Multisport with build in GPS. That is what is most appealing to me. The Garmin 500 is cycling only.
  8. Anyone know the results of the ladies?
  9. Sugoi is very comfortable
  10. The Medium Frame will make you smile. I'am 1.76 and on a Medium Cannondale Scalpel 29er, and feels just right. I was actually thinking between Small/Medium, but went for medium.
  11. The gobi is killing me at the moment. So I took the step and went to Specialized shop to measure my sit bones. I need a 168 saddle! Yes 168mm. So the don;t have stock, so I took the 155mm test Phenom saddle for 2 weeks. It was killing me. Sit bones so sore as hell, so much chaffing everywhere. In this case the 168 would actually make it worse. I handed back the 155 test saddle. For now I'am back onto Gobi, And will continue my test saddle program within 4 weeks from now. I almost bought the 155 saddle without giving it a try, But good I had an option to try before you buy. Buy the looks of it, it is going to take a long time to find the correct saddle for me. With the Phenom there is so mush more pressure on my sit bones, and I'am not use to that.
  12. I have the same problem. My speed sensors all all the bikes stopped working, so I've tried my wife's 720i polar and now the speed works on all the bikes. So the 725X unit is faulty AGAIN. it has been replaced in the past (R1200) that time I thought that is cheaper to fix it. But 2 years later and now faulty again. So for now I use my wifes 720i polar, but the altitude on this unit also doesn't work I've replaced the HR straps 6 months ago, but don't feel like spending more money on maintenance on these polars. It is 7 years old. Thinking of the Garmin 500. But that is also a load of money...
  13. on my scale my 7 year old 540's weigh the same as the new XTR's I've bought . both pair at 305g. And the performance between the 2 feels the same (atleast for me it does) So my opinion. XTR pedals are overrated. stick to 540's or go for XT
  14. shops of individuals. I'am looking at rides leaving early on week mornings. around 5 am or so, for max 2 hours, as I need to get to work not to late. I've heard about a Velo group on thursdays leaving from a garage somewhere. But not sure how late and how long the ride would be. Thanks for these shops, will ring them. I'am looking at 2 hard rides in die week, and MAYBE 2 easier rides. The weekends I would be sorted, Would do long hours on my MTB.
  15. Change the brakes to XT / XTR. The rest is good.
  16. I want to know which groups do go for outrides and when / what time (Road / MTB) during the week from the Menlyn Area. And how long is the outrides normally? Looking at doing 4 rides per week. tx
  17. Jip, Awesome race! Redbull Live TV rock, and can watch on demand!
  18. KASK looks awesome. I've got a Giro, and not happy with it. Does not fit nicely...
  19. Jip, I bought a Scalpel 2 29er 6 weeks ago. It is an awesome, responsive machine! Just love it. I have tried a few other brands on test rides, but the scalpel suited my riding style the best. I've still got the 26" HT which I use as training bike, and it is still a pleasure to ride the 26 HT.
  20. And for all our normal pleps it does not matter .. Good for the pro's though...
  21. It is not all about the bike that wins races.
  22. if you can get hold of an spez epic! I went with Scalpel 2 because there is no stock available on epic expert for whole of 2012. I've got the scalpel within a week, and support on dale's also good at the epic.
  23. @1.77m the Large is to big.
