  1. Any comments on look vs cb vs time atac while we are on the subject of light weight mtb pedals? Shimano's are the tits, but they weigh as much as pamela's DD's.
  2. I thought right back left front is the proper way? I have always ridden moto style.
  3. That is a bit ott don't you think? I never wore a helmet (age 6-15), but I was never training. All you as a kid do is ride around, go buy some sweets from the the shop and come back. Never heard of a kid on a bicycle just riding around who got killed as a cause of not wearing a helmet.
  4. Well thanks for the help! Tried it on a used pf and yes it works.
  5. I would also rather opt for a second hand 26" bike, 29ers in the same price range weigh much more and are much worse specced as stated previously. Nothing wrong with a second hand giant xtc with full xt components. I would however check that the second hand bike's components are not too old, if they are 10 speed then you are in the pound seats. Also buy your bike with a good frame, fork and wheels. Rest can be swopped and upgraded without too much faf. Just my 2c's. (ps: I only started riding in February, bought a second hand 2009 specialized rockhopper for R3500 but then the upgrades began...)
  6. Quickie: Will a shimano press fit bb30 to gxp adapter work for a sram x7 gxp crank? Can it be done and if so how? PS: if anyone in the Boland/CT area have a truvative press fit bb30 for my x7 gxp crank please drop me a pm.
  7. Had the companion 5's and I was not impressed. For their price bose has got to be the most overrated audio company imo. Also had the harman/kardon soundsticks, wow what a lovely set of speakers and they look excellent!
  8. I think the problem isn't shifting, it's more a matter of running out of gears on downhills., but then again if your legs are strong enough you can go for a 34 or evem 36 is front. Those X0/XX gripshifts are superb at shifting lots of gears at once.

  10. Was also an interesting thread: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/120252-recovery-shakes/
  11. You along with dangle obviously misunderstood my post. 3 posts and one of them a fairly well written piece of grammar commenting on a USN and their marketing mechanisms thread is very suspicious - "sounds like a bunch of USN 8==D holders". As for "If you are affiliated with USN in ANY matter, your comment is irrelevant", If you are being sponsored/payed by USN then you are going to be biased. Seen the comments on the twitter page from USN affiliates and it makes for biased comments.
  12. 3 posts? Seriously? And Dangle likes your post? sounds like a bunch of USN 8==D holders. If you are affiliated with USN in ANY matter, your comment is irrelevant.

  14. How much does it weigh compared to 11-36 xx cassette?
  15. With such a huge cassette, you won't shed of much weight. More of a simplicity thing?
  16. I always wear earphones...mtb is not as dangerous as road cycling
  17. Best sports earphones are sennheiser's cx680 adidas range. Those things are bulletproof, great sounding and sweat resistent. Bose's earphones are however the most comfortable earphones EVER and they sound just as good with a tad more bass. And they never fall out, (we are never, ever, getting back together) like ever. Heres the load down: Budget - sennheiser cx 300 - R350 Outdoor crazy - sennheiser cx 680e - R650 Rich who loves comfort - bose ime2 - R900
  18. Also greater. My reba went from 100mm to 120mm.
  19. Only cptmayhem? Get out of the "hubbers help a lady out" thread and help the guys in need of advice?
  20. You don't say! Edit: sorry getting late, I should rather go sleep.
  21. +1 Tried this, doesn't work, especially the stock schwalbe tyres, The sidewalls on schwalbe's are way too thin. You will see the stans bubbling through the tyre's sidewall. Do it properly or you will just cause yourself frustration.
  22. I just wish people in SA can just learn to respect each other's lives.
  23. Going to be a bitch so sort out problems with felt. but I hear you.
