  1. Mind informing me on strava and endmondo, I have endmondo on my BB9360 but it is too big of a hassle to carry my phone around and then get my battery beaten to death by the app. Never uploaded my stats to the site but it on the phone I get avg, time and distance. Whats the fuss about, my knog does the same? The gps tracking it ok but not worth the hassle to me. Am I missing something?
  2. Things like stage races are tricky, I would eat good carbs for the long rides as well as between stage races. Things like baked potatoes and pasta just to replenish on the carbs your have burned. Then take in some salts. Add extra salt on the food or drink some beroca. Lasty take in amino acids, start each day with a nice bowl of future life or oats and take an amino acid supplement with all that. just my 2c .
  3. For a budget system you cant really beat a XT cassette and SLX chain. Just my 2c
  4. I have heard of a few people trying it and not lasting. But if you are 60kg's then it should work fine .
  5. The bike racks on trailers clamp on using the QR of the fork and strapping down the rear wheel. Well the new TA setups also cant go on those bike racks. The cost involved is around R2000 for the front wheel and R8000 for the 1400g lefty or R12000 for the carbon 1200g lefty, then the adapter and stem is another R1000, note they also add around 50grams of weight depending on how light your stem was then the rim (a crest will buckle) has to be a arch so that is also the odd 50grams extra over a crest rim. The weight saving is in the region of 200grams for the normal lefty and 400grams for the carbon (considering your current fork is a reba) so not worth it just on weight.
  6. You bad boys mind adding the weight of your ss next to you gear ratio? Always interested in weight but no one else bothers
  7. Just another way of making money, can someone please explain who all the bodies are? I know about ppa and when with them you must buy a racetec chip for results but not all races use ppa. Someone care to explain to the noobs please?
  8. Punchuer, would you mind posting a google map of that trail. Always looking for new places to cycle in Stellenbosch.
  9. Was riding yesterday and had 20 flies (no i'm not a hobo) around me on the climbs, you only drop them at around 22km/h.
  10. Please give info on where you guys are situated and what her registration number, will keep an eye open.
  11. Competition is never a bad thing for the consumer.

    29er wheels

I also have crest rims, laced to AM hubs with DT competition spokes. After the build I have never even taken them back to be tensioned. I weigh 75kg's and they have been through some rough ditches and jeeptrack, still true like the day I got them. In my opinion it is more about the wheel builder and tyre pressure. I like my tyres at around the 1.7 bar mark, but then again I like my fork's the same, so I set mine plush as hell. Anyway, for the lower weight riders there is nothing wrong with the crests.
  13. Found these kief ideas. http://www.bubblews.com/assets/images/news/1880010877_1350422074.jpg http://ih3.redbubble.net/image.12138380.7795/fig,heather_grey,mens,ffffff.2.jpg http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/news/2010/11/18/1290079592667-1c4gqlxpzvje1-280-75.jpg (last one I opened just for boobs )
  14. Why not try a supplement like Universal's animal cut (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/univ/cutsfree.html), or a carb blocker. Heard good things about myo-cuts as well. Then drink lots of green tea a day, eat hot food, and cut salt and sugar intake to a minimum.
  15. So here is the memo: Best prices: CWC/Evobikes Everything: Gecko cycles, sometimes a tad more expensive than the above mentioned but just ask bradley/fred/brad for discount.
  16. Ok so 650b/27.5mm is the medium one then....
  17. Weighed my new fork. Rockshox SID RL 29" 15mm maxle-light with push lock weighs 1730 grams. That is including the axle, now minus the skewer and then some for a 15mm hub and you end up with almost the same weight.
  18. I had the opportunity of upgrading my fork and since my am hub is 15mm but uses the QR adapter I bought a very nice 15mm TA from Naas. Still fitting it, the bearings seems to be too big for the axle and I don't have the spacers that goes on each side. I will keep my tire pressure the same and give feedback, cause I am running the exact same setup but with 15mm TA and lighter fork. Question: how big is the weight penalty? For me I am throwing out a shimano xt skewer and the AM 9mm QR adapter, so I don't think there is a weight penalty, also the 15mm AM hub is 15grams lighter than the 9mm QR AM hub.
  19. You happy with them? getting bad wear from xon rotors. Yours 160mm front and back?
  20. Thats expensive, I paid R1600 and bled. What rotors are you using?
  21. Yes, but the only reason for cannabis being more prominent is that it takes around 30 days for tetrahydrocannabinols to clear the system. Anyways, cannabis is not the evil stepmother people used to think it is. Doubt it is beneficial to sporting activities though so those numbers are probably more for on the recreational purposes side.
  22. How do you like the pedals? Really worth the weight saving?
  23. How on earth do you guys get a geared 29er that light? What bike/components is it?
