  1. As SeanN mentioned re -install you old pads before using the screwdriver, that way your new pads cant get trashed. I also then pull brakes a couple times to see that the pistons are moving more or less equally on both sides (using the screwdriver each time to push the pads/pistons back). If they are not moving equally, I apply a drop of brake fluid to the edge of the piston to help lubricate it (clean any excess brake fluid). If one side remains stuck hold the working side piston in with the screw driver & apply brakes again and try to get the seized piston moving again. I have (touch wood) always had success with this method but if you cant get the stuck piston moving it could well be time for a caliper rebuild.

  3. Nope, but my office is in Rivonia.
  4. I can't see why there should be any interference. The hub width should be identical & so should the fork lowers.
  5. Back to the topic... The 650b machine in action http://gp1.pinkbike.org/p5pb8748212/p5pb8748212.jpg
  6. Well you can decide for yourself, but she definitely knows how to ride a bike! http://sykling.no/SiteCollectionImages/Ut%C3%B8vere/Portrett%20Anita%20Ager%20Wick%20470.jpg http://toolbox.n3sport.no/ToolboxX/downloads/53959/files/Finale_Anita_Ager_Wick-red.jpeg http://terrengsykkel.no/img/magasin/telex/full/0808182124_anita_ager_wick.jpg but it would seem that even she sometimes gets it wrong. http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2796/photos/27760/s780_BestOf2011_PhilippVonDitfurth_105_20110821_Anita_Ager_Wick.jpg?1320701821
  7. Give them some TLC and see if things improve. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/195272/
  8. I would consider getting one if the unthinkable happened to the Makulu and they were available in SA. So basically I'll never get one, but I'd still get one. Whatever, you know what I'm trying to say.
  9. The one Norwegian girl we rode with in Morzine said they are notorious for cracking. She was no hack either, sponsored by The Last Herb and she was very (over) critical of parts and bike setups, so I ended up taking a lot of her comments with a pinch of salt. That said she could ride a DH bicycle . I still think the YTs look brilliant & are a bargain for what you get and I would certainly consider getting one.
  10. September fails! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G57WRNqdY08
  11. The Heckler in her work attire... Now running 2 x 9 (think I may go 1 x9) Refurbished KS dropper post Atlas bars I like
  12. Your brand spanking new 300lbs spring and axle are waiting for you. I just keep forgetting to bring them with me when we head out riding. I think that 250lbs spring is spot on for me... And is a great addition to my newly acquired Fox 40
  13. Seems like they are quite strong... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M7H85x_Fyk
  14. Time to cut your losses and book your ticket for next year!!!!
  15. They were regte-egte DH shorts. The previous time I was there, there was a single set of white Fox DH shorts. You have to scour the interwebs to find authentic 2nd hand Alpine*'s GM pant, so you should have no problem. I'm looking forward to busting out my newly aquired Kenny kit, but first I have to put the Makulu back together...
  16. The Full Throttle clearance store in Edenvale has Fox riding shorts. Only had them in red/white at R500 a pop.

  18. Rob's Dirty Business - Episode 7 This dude is a nut! Never knew Minnaar had such a funny accent http://www.redbull.com/en/bike/episodes/1331576504224/rob-s-dirty-business-world-championships-fly-by
  19. Track looks like a lot of fun. Enjoy Minnaar throwing down some huge whips on the way to the start, then a MONSTER double at 1:47 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTwmycMzS1I&feature=player_embedded
  20. Comley's has been good to me. Peach even went back to his Go Pro footage to try find some extra time . And to think I've been nice enough to send him a weekly tip on how to improve his riding since that race Well Peach, I guess we'll have to go to Chatel next year. I cant say my hands look forward to the 10min+ race run down the hill (you'll have to peel my fingers off the bars at the bottom), but if that is what it takes... Game on!
  21. Don't worry, I still think you're lame
  22. Ahhh if only I could be back riding those trails... Peach they even show the jump you ended yourself on! Looks like the SA contingent did quite nicely too. Pottie #5, Garliki #15, J Neetling #21 & Adi #26. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/IXS-European-Downhill-Cup-2012-Fairclough-wins-Chatel.html
  23. I find placing the valve closest to the floor (i.e. at a 6 O'clock position) and gently pushing down on the wheel while inflating helps to get the initial seal going.
  24. Plus you get access to local busses. The 13 day lift pass cost me exactly R1550.65 The trip would be a waste of time without it and is worth every penny.
  25. I wimped out TBH. We had three afternoons where I managed 3 easily, but we had to head home and cook (with more beer ). I wanted to do the Mutzig Challenge on the last day but decided to ride instead. I did manage to get a souvenir glass though . The old folks who run Bar Robinson are a fairly uptight bunch. Some Scot's who were staying at the same spot as we were said a mate of theirs did 8 between 4pm & 8pm (the bar ONLY opens between these times) and that the real challenge is 10
