  1. Have been a couple of times, beginners group is mostly ladies and you can go, ride and see before you decide if you want to join
  2. Take a look at the Joburg Mountain Bike Club http://jmbc.org.za/index.php They ride most Sunday mornings, all over but mainly in the north and west and have beginners groups. Groups always have a leader and a sweep to look after the slower members.
  3. Shows the class of Cav, still winning without a lead out team!!
  4. Am currently streaming Eurosports on http://sports-livez....hannel/ch-5.php in case SS6 is not working or they mess up the programming like they did on Saturday Thanks as now have best of both for coverage

  7. It will get delivered to whichever delivery address you stated when buying, whether a PO box or your house. You can try using http://www.17track.net/IndexEn.html to track your item, it you have been given an international tracking number. You can also phone the post office 0860 111 502 and ask for them to trace it. You quote your international tracking number and if the item has arrived in SA they will give you a local tracking number and tell you where it is, normally stuck at customs. You can then track that online yourself http://www.parceltrack.co.za/ using the local tracking number. If you have requested delivery to a PO Box, then the SAPO will put a notification in your PO Box saying is ready for collection once has reached the branch. If the online Parcel track says it has arrived at your post office and you have not recieved notification, you can still go to the post office with the local tracking number on a piece of paper and collect.
  8. Strange that he sold you a Garmin but not the box that it came in??.... as has been stated, seems like an insurance scam where he was going to use the box as proof to insurance .... am sure the story will unfold and as you said, you have the EFT transfer as proof
  9. try Solomons, they may have yellow or can get you yellow http://www.solomonsonline.co.za/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=136_16_235&products_id=877
  10. Most newbies are unlikely to spend more than R10k on a bike when starting out in the world of cycling, so going much above your R12.5k is a waste of time. Whilst the newbie has the notion of getting into cycling, they will also have in the back of their mind, what if I don't like it, do I want to spend all that money and then have to try and sell the bike, how would I resell the bike? So if this thread is info for newbies, then would be better to focus on the lower end price range.
  11. How does it ride? Well done on following your dreams!!

  16. If you put a minimum post count in... then will become spammers before scammers to get to the quota!! There again they may loose interest very quickly or think twice
  17. Agree with Mr Price Sports if you want cheap and cheerfull. Have a friend who is also just getting into MTB and she does not want to spend a fortune until she has decided whether is for her. Mr Price Sports was perfect for her needs and budget.
  18. I started cycling again last August as had ballooned to 95kgs, I got down to 75kgs in 6 months and now am happy at the weight. Can agree that hills are much more fun and actually prefer to downhill lol So can vouch that it makes a big difference ..
  19. If you do not have the bolt points as the adaptors on ebay show, you could look at this for an alternative http://www.shop.therapycomponents.com/Brake-Therapy-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Kit-For-26-MTB-135mm-1001.htm At $175 is a bit steep!!, but am sure with a bit of intuition you could machine one up taking the idea and concept
  20. You can try an after market adaptor which you can get off ebay. May be suitable. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TREK-Klein-Gary-FISHER-Rear-Disc-Brake-Adapter-INCLUDES-BOLTS-HARDWARE-OEM-51mm-/180891509173?pt=Mountain_Bikes&hash=item2a1df961b5 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rear-disc-brake-adapter-4-Gary-Fisher-Trek-Klein-Juicy-/190683927891?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c65a5d553
