  1. I'll happily send you my files! hahaha Here is an example. Its consistantly about 25-50% of what I actually ride at - power spikes aside (which mess with my curve enormously.) and the corresponding workout: http://app.strava.com/activities/80175671
  2. Taking Seasonal Segments - Tailwind Strava Slaughter
  3. thats winter training... no recovery! hahaha You just roll 3 hard weeks, one easier week.
  4. He can consistently train 30-35 hours a week as a Pro... for 3-4 months, then race solidly for the rest of the year, with all day to recover. IF lower, but load higher. I still have a day job...and a family! Another funny stat is that during Epic he may ride a total of 30 hours in Epic. Us amateurs may take 45- 50 hours! So we would effectively do more hours and effectively a higher tss anyway!
  5. Those massive TSS scores may only happen once or twice a year, so it's more of an exception than a rule. Over winter I was riding about 750 - 850 TSS weeks, but with a lot of MTB that may have been underestimated due to the powercal strap. Awaiting Quarq Quattro to sort that out and plan my CTL better with dual disciplines.
  6. that should put you at 105.6 tss for an hour. theorhetically you should adjust your FTP higher so that you hit 1 at an hour, but it's probable that you would not sustain your 20 minute effort over the full hour, if you depreciate your 20minute tss by 10% you would do a 95.04 tss and that means you need to lower your FTP. Open to correction on the % drop over 20minto 1 hour.
  7. I have a set of Cosmic Carbone Ultimates, 500km old -for sale @ R22500
  8. Been trying to get some sort of communication from the P2Max agency for weeks trying to buy one, promised calls with no follow up... doesn't bode well, if I bought and had issues I'd be pretty stuffed right now.
  9. there is nobody better than Andy Lambert www.howmuchfood.com
  10. Im pretty sure all you need is a standard Shimano Threaded BB like the link you posted
  11. I have a 34T on the front... I race at a level below Pro, so I would probably say you would be safe to ride a 32T or even a 30T if you struggle a bit on hills and don't need the 10/12T sprockets to power you over 40kmph
  12. I recently weighed up both...went with Edge 800 again. Bluetooth is old spec so will quickly be outdated, wont be compatible with new devices. Pairing with phone for live tracking is pretty useless unless your coach wants to see if you're riding or your wife needs to find you... So no real point
  13. Correct
  14. Motorists cannot fathom this concept - *Must not overtake cyclist, no space*? (Head Explodes)
  15. Yes you are- as a cyclist you are only legally required to stay as far left as possible. You are also entitled to use the entire lane, then move left when required, if it is not safe to overtake when the road is too narrow, its not the cyclist who should not be there - its the vehicle that should NOT overtake.
  16. Formula RX on a budget, R1's on a spending spree otherwise best Shimano brake I've used - XT
  17. I have said it before and say it again...that road is a death trap. I appealed and released a video to Helen Zille that gone unanswered after the last tragedy there... My thoughts are with the little girl and that she makes a full recovery. I side with iCycling on this one for that stretch of road - Cycle two or three abreast in the middle of the road and do not let vehicles overtake - its the ONLY way you can stay safe.
  18. sounds like you have oil on your pads...

Haha yes, Lorenzo led Marquez until 3 laps to go, then there were three passing manoeuvres in the end. That's more than a whole season of F1! Pity Pedrosa cooked his tires getting back on terms with the top two, maybe should have taken more time to close the gap. Rossi Stuffed it in for 4th - Bauptista was impressive although alone in 4th.
  20. Run higher tire pressure than you would normally during the stages - 2 bars or so will greatly reduce your chances of cutting sidewalls - there are lots of shale descents that will ruin your race if you try run super low pressures. Pack a rain jacket, lots lots bombs and spare tubes.
  21. New 50mm prime lens to play with today... decided to shoot some stuff I had hanging around... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7326/9628531444_53b8cccd4e_b.jpg
  22. I use Elite Paron cages and so far not a single bottle rocket. Make sure you have a smaller bottle with a decent lip on it for grip. Other tricks I have seen are a secret sock over the bottle to increase its diameter, as well as a thick rubber band tied to the cage then over the bottle until you need it, then swap with empty bottle. You can also wrap some cling wrap around the nozzle to ensure its clean by the time you need it.
  23. The cables are there...
