  1. I am 1.67, my boet - the tall one who got the good genes - is 1.74. We both ride mediums and he fits on my bike. Sizing differs between brands. Look at reach, effective top tube length and standover height. +1 on the trail bike for Eden/GSpot/Jonkers. I've ridden it all (except Iron Monkey & Plumber & Status Quo) on my on-one inbred 26er with a 120mm fork. It is scary in places. With my trail bike, these trails are actually enjoyable and FUN. I tend to size up on my bikes after buying a too small bike in 2004 - spent 3 months salary on it and couldn't afford another bike for a while... I am always on border of small and medium (except on the Ibis chart where I am a slap bang medium, but can't afford one of those now) [edit: is/are/gremmar/grammer/grammar/gramer]
  2. and if you do, please let me know when you're riding it. I wanna watch... (no, not a Rolex...)
  3. AND it looks like he's got Roux's old rear tyre on the front Seriously Roux, get that steel frame.
  4. my shrink and the kids' play therapist both recommended this arrangement, with some advice on how to make it work. The kids will go through some turmoil until they adjust to the new normal, whatever that may be. They will also adjust to dad's house and mom's house. We try to not let them have to pack suitcases every week. There is a level of consistency, but also differences.
  5. Thanks for all the hub-support! In that sense the lock-down and having to live together after the divorce was settled help. All of a sudden there was nothing to "fight" for and to prove to the other. All focus moved towards the kids. Hopefully we can keep this up. The kids recon its boring at my place compared to their mom's new place... that will too wear off :-)
  6. My ex moved out today. The kids will rotate weekly (starting here by me) and we need to make this work in their best interest. Its going to be interesting juggling work, a grade 2 and grade R until the schools open by hopefully September 2042. The first day went OK.
  7. Agreed. I was really hesitant to give any answer to this question as we lack all the detail. GrassMuncher's buddy should get an attorney.
  8. Was the 1/3 portion a gift from his father? If I remember correctly, the Huweliksgoedere Act specifically exclude gifts from accrual. (Sorry, I studied family law in Afrikaans way back in 1996 and is too lazy to google the proper name of the act. I argued this on stuff I got from my parents: they were gifts to me and the (h)eks may not share therein. My attorney went with it and the ex's attorney didn't put up a fight.)
  9. Gspot was really crowded. 10% wearing masks. No social distancing. We're our own worst enemies. Did one run and went home. Can feel it was the 1st ride in a month+. Buggered and didn't feel the flow.
  10. same boat... could have stayed with kids on my dad's farm, but my daughter (6) will take strain if she doesn't see her mom for a month (or more).
  11. My laaitie has a chronic condition and need to take medicine that increases his appetite and he is hungry the WHOLE time... don't parent shame when you do not have all the information.
  12. Butch was VERY good, but better than Honibal? I'm a fan of both.
  13. Court date set for 27 Feb. Then, k*k en betaal, adapt to the new life (my shrink says this will take some time) and this ordeal is over. Amper klaar...
  14. Happy birthday Gemmer! Some good news from my side: Settlement agreement signed yesterday by soon-to-be ex. Now its is just waiting for the process to play out (summons, family advocate sign-off on family plan, court, pay the pound of flesh closest to the heart) and this sad chapter should end at the end of Feb. Honestly, this is a bittersweet place, similar to the contrast of drinking double shot Americano without sugar or milk, while eating Snob's Coffee's (very sweet) cheese cake.

  16. in 2017 I took a flight from that airport. And the Reich was striking as well. It was a mess
  17. I have friends who toured France for 3 weeks with loaded bikes and their twins using FEVA seats. I still use mine with my 5yo on excursions that will be too difficult for her on her own bike (e.g. Coetzenburg XC track to visit the horses at Maties equestrian).
  18. I spotted the leopard, but need a bit of help to find the cheetah Was a bit slow, again
  19. I'm busy smoking a lamb rib with citrus wood chips, cinnamon and rosemary. Hoping for the best...
  20. I demoed a spaz stumpjumper with dpx2. The shock was amazing. No experience on the rockshox
  21. Mine is turning out to be messy. She has unreasonable financial expectations and mediation failed. Lawyers are involved and she doesn't understand that their costs are not paid by me, but effectively comes out of her own pocket well for the accrual just get smaller and smaller with each letter and consultation. At least we don't fight about the kids. Gemmer, you're right:it is truly exhausting and demoralising.

    RIFLE

my first big game kill was with a .22: bosvark at 90m+, oop visier, one shot. D.E.D. dead. The morning before my 15th birthday.
  23. +1
  24. Thanks Hairy, needed that this morning!
