  1. ArchedBackChinOut is quite correct. People tend to refuse more and more to take responsibility for their own actions. No-one put a gun to their heads and forced them to perform the action they so easily complain about. Caveat emptor and all that. But it's OT. On-topic; if you want to complain about a false advertisment use the ASA, not the CPA. They will investigate and rule on the complaint and are pretty good at it. You can log an online complaint here: http://asasa.org.za/Complaint.aspx

  3. So you basically agree with my point then.
  4. Think you miss some of the physics behind a bigger wheel. If you're argument is valid why are you not riding a 20"?
  5. Still setting PRs at 50 and intend to do so for many years to come.
  6. Over the years the collection slowly built up so today I have a 26" HT and DS as well as a 29" HT and DS. (Plus a road bike and a SS) Enjoy all of them. Which I think is the point after all? Should we not ride more and debate less??
  7. Two kinds of Strava users; those who take advantage of favorable conditions and those who lie about not taking advantage of favorable conditions.......
  8. It's a great idea and I wish you well. And will be a visitor. But just remember, many-a-web-site was started with good intention but the admin quickly becomes such an overhead that it falls into disrepair before a year is out. Especially a site like this that really requires a huge amount of updating. But keep at it and within a year or two the traffic to the (well maintained) site will generate the revenue I hope you'll see. Good luck. PS. Don't fall into the trap of trying to add every feature your average (& infinitely better web-admin) hubber will try and impose on you. Keep it simple but accurate and it'll be a success.
  9. They eventually answered my mail today, nearly 2 weeks later......
  10. Thanks I try and find the clean and dry bits of tar when riding. Crapping myself the rims will chip. Normally swap the saddle out for a vintage San Marco when on the road.
  11. Must say, my problems with CWC seems to be ongoing. A week before the Sani2S went to CWC to get 2 new bibs and some other stuff. Could not get any staff members to help (they were watching rugby on the TV). Eventually tried on the new Asos bibs, picked up some extra stuff I needed and eventually had around R7K's worth of stuff in my arms. Still could not get any service so eventually put it all down and went and bought it from Sportsman's Warehouse. BTW, did go back to the shop to get the light (story above). Again were promised a call. Again never got it.
  12. Both bikes are better than most of us will ever be, so my advice is always simple: Buy the bike you're going to want to ride. No use getting the bike others told you to buy but you're not riding it. Personally, I ride an Epic and have no desire to get anything else. Which is really frustrating when the 'upgrade' bug bites and you don't know how to scratch.
  13. Another cool page by Strava Labs: Allows you to pan across a typical Saturday in 1 hour increments and see Strava activities. You can see the roadies out early and then the MTB trails light up in the late morning and late afternoons. http://app.strava.com/saturday-heatmap#0|7|11|-33.79284|18.61653
  14. If you go to the home page of Strava Labs (http://labs.strava.com), you see how new activities are uploaded in real time. South Africa is quite active.
  15. An obvious point is to do all your leg weight exercises single-leg. In other words, one leg at a time. Using both legs only makes the stronger leg stronger. I had a situation where my quad was dominant on the left but my right hammie were stronger. Talk about being lopsided. Sorted it with single leg exercises targeting those muscles. I now do calfves singled-leg as well. It's pretty simple to diagnose. Just do a few set of single leg extension, curls, presses, etc. and you'll quickly pick up which muscles need working. Having said that, always get to a proper expert first.
  16. Seems Google is not my friend in this case. I'm trying to find a local dealer for the Elite RealAxiom trainer. My dog managed to chow some of the cables on mine. Any ideas / suggestions will be appreciated. Tx!
  17. Have deposited R500 and challenge all other Hub members to do the same.

    Argus 2014

How strict is the name checking when you load? Got one friend who can't ride anymore and another really keen to move up the starting order. He can comfortably ride the earlier group but just returned to SA recently so got a really late start. Suggestions?
