  1. Haha so my error was bit of a fundamental error, combined with a weird database error (or something). I don't know my BikeHub passwordI usually use "sign in with Facebook" because ^^"Forgot password" doesn't work becauseusername "Koei" doesn't existprovided email address doesn't existSo I log in to the email address that's supposedly not connected to BikeHub, look back into the archives of way way back, find an email from mail@thehubsa.co.za addressed to my original username... So back to the "Forgot password" form: Submit old username...voila....it worked! Note to self: don't forget password Edit: Apparently username =/= Display Name...
  2. Eish...I could not sign up because Username / Email taken. Could use "forget password" because Username / Email does not exist...
  3. Happiness.
  4. Speaking of awesome gear. ASICS just released the FujiLyte. This is particularly exciting to me, since I'm a big fan of low-drop lightweight trail shoes. Don't let the "classic ASICS looks" fool you - the FujiLyte is everything but a classic. It has 4mm of drop and weighs 230g (US 9) per shoe. ASICS spent most of their R&D on their road shoes, but this gives affirmation that the trail department is not yet forgotten (albeit a bit slow). http://c12010671.r71.cf2.rackcdn.com/978c8243-fd02-4ba5-89b7-b641ca46519a__L.jpg As of yet I couldn't find any reviews, but in time we'll find out how it compares to the competition. In the states these go for 110$ (compared to the $130 Salomon Sense Pro and $120 Saucony Peregrine 6). ASICS-ZA said it's already available in SA. Watch this space...
  5. Ultimate Direction up'ed their game with their new range. (yeah, I'm still stuck with the hydration vest...). They revamped their signature series offering lighter, stretchier and better looking iterations of their previous vests. The 11l AK 3.0 looks like a nice option. It's basically the closest yet to Salomon's successful pack, with a little bit more adjustability (compression bungee, waist compression straps and adjustable straps at the "bottle pockets"). It just got released in the states, but it would be nice if I can get my hands on a set. If only Hammer Nutrition would respond to their emails... http://cdn.campsaver.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/550x550/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/a/k/ak_mtnvest_poles_side_ud16.jpg
  6. I'm getting "An error ocurred. Please try again at a later time"
  7. This. My first MTB shoes were olympics and they lasted too long. The pricing is really good.
  8. So there's something I want from the 'States: R2070 converted value. After duties, tax, shipping, clearance fee and disbursement fee the total adds up to R3610 - or 75% more than original $ price. I want to cry
  9. I like. I also looked at the very similar - if not the same - SJ vest. But these are impossible to find in SA. Hammer Nutrition can import these on their next order, but it won't be cheap. I'm really considering the Set 5....
  10. Are there any specialist shops in the Tyger / Durbanville area that will probably stock Salomon or any other reputable pack brands?
  11. My view of a "proper" Camelbak is something like the Ultra 4 and 10. I've seen the Ultra 4 online, but never in person to fit it. But the 10 seems to be more like what I'm looking for, but I've never seen any hint of it in SA. Copy-paste statement to Nathan and UD - they only have the "lighter" models here.
  12. Feedback wil be much appreciated. A local shop still has stock (5l only not the 12)...but not too much anymore. The only reason I haven't bought it just yet is the capacity. 5l feels like it may not be enough for some of the race-packing-requirements. but 12l feels a bit overkill. a 7/8 would have been perfect...hence the opinion hunt!
  13. First run after a 3 week forced-hiatus (Bicycle Judo'ed me...). It hurt like hell, but I'm glad to be back ...and I'm still on the lookout for a good running pack....just not Ultra Spire. But the proper Nathan Sports ones aren't imported anymore. The proper Camelbaks are out of stock. Ultimate Direction is out of stock. And the ZAR-USD isn't helping either...
  14. Also, thank the origin of trails (they did go down there, right?). But if you can get past the rRATATATATAT it's still a pretty awesome trail!!
  15. Anyone here who could offer some first hand feedback on Salomon's longname 5 or 12l packs? I fitted one I got embraced by the 5l one today in-store, but I know part of me wants to get it just because of the "S"-brand-disease (like a certain popular MTB brand). The Camelbak Ultra's are also on the table - and the NathanSports Vapor range as well - if I could find them. Not so much the UltraSpires (which is on discount at NativeSports BTW).
  16. Spot the difference http://2016bestsuvreviews.xyz/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/2015-Jaguar-F-Type-V8-S-Coupe-Side-View-Wallpaper.jpg After watching the trailers...and watching the movie up to the point where Q mentioned "Aston Martin DB10" I seriously thought JB's new whip is a Jaguar F-Type
  17. Did the Red Bull Lionheart yesterday. Hands down the most difficult < 5km race I've done. 350m of climbing over 2.3 km, then back again! Great event and very well organised. And the goody-bag merch (Salomon tech-top and running visor) was awesome too! And a bonus: no entry fees! I'm really liking this Red-Bull / Salomon trail running initiative (they organised the Table Mountain FKT as well)
  18. The Apple watch is a glorified step counter. It had lots of potential, but the dependence on the iPhone ruined it. But, Apple. #hatersgonnahate
  19. RIP Red Trail. Tried it out yesterday (origin of my own trail). Dongas / breaking-holes aside, it was still a great ride. The first section especially!
  20. Sounds awesome but it's so expensive (don't have a timing chip...)!
  21. If you have Garmin Connect you can directly link your Garmin device to Vitality. Same with Polar and about any other device out there, except for Suunto - one of the top device brands. Earlier this year we were able to directly connect to the Movescount platform, but Discovery decided to add a re-route via MapMyFitness (MMF). The MMF-Vitality connection works 95%, but the Movescount-MMF connection works more like 20%.
  22. Today is Wednesday. No rewards. #1 - The amount of points required for last week is "pending" (instead of "700" or whatnot) #2 - I see MapMyFitness disconnected my Suunto......again. Like 2 weeks ago.
  23. Anybody having Active Rewards problems? "Last week's goal: pending" = no free smoothie for me. I demand my free smoothie!!
  24. Their shoe sale is awesome. Just never ever ask any of the floor-assistants for advice.
