  1. Quite impressive the whole process! Inter legends game this weekend has really pulled in some awesome big names - would love to have watched it. Crystal Palace early April and City in the Champions league a week after that! Should be an absolute cracker!
  2. All the reports seems to indicate it's an absolute beauty (the pics have always looked impressive)... might have to make a trip again to London sometime soon
  3. I think that's code for 'we can't move a 920xt for love or money' At R2000 for the 920XT that is a bargain - does it come with the swim strap etc?
  4. They not offering you the option of the 935 through Garmin?
  5. Hmmm... but he rode the Junior tour of Ireland in July in Protouch kit? https://inthebunch.co.za/2018/07/sas-rickardo-broxham-in-surprise-after-junior-tour-of-ireland-victory/ And he's listed in the results for 2018 Support SA Talent series as ProTouch (and this series is run by the same guys who run the ProTouch team) https://www.supportsatalent.co.za/hall-of-fame/ Regardless, my point remains - make someone who has doped your team captain and it sets a ridiculously poor precedent. Just like all the team managers signing up the 'ex' dopers because it's win at all costs at all times...

  7. So he was riding for ProTouch at the time of the positive... Same team who think it's all good and fine to make a former doper their team captain - what a great example that sets. The more the sport changes, the more it stays the same
  8. Incredibly sad stuff... Remember when he won this little junior tour last year https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/177669-junior-tour-of-ireland/page-3?hl=junior
  9. Pretty cool
  10. I've got a Two Oceans Ultra entry available - well me and the rest of the planet it seems But if anyone wants the entry, you can have it - all it will cost you is the admin fee of R175. I will refund you the rest of the entry fee when the webtickets guys refund me... Would way rather someone got some use out of my entry over it just going to waste. If you've never done the race before, it's honestly about as good as road running gets - seriously bummed to be missing out, but I have at least secured a *** expensive trail run entry to give myself some solace
  11. Yip, something has to change... not sure on the cost of the seaweed sachets, they're probably expensive at the moment, but hopefully viable long term if the demand is there. I'd also happily get in on the running hydration pack train, where you're likely only stopping once/twice in a whole marathon. Two three minutes in the grand scheme of things is not a lot. I just hate running with a pack, especially when it's hot, but it's no doubt something you get more accustomed too down the line. Will be interesting to see which route this all heads
  12. Thanks, will probably just measure it up tomorrow and work it out from there... just seriously find it strange such a beautiful frame with lots of cool neat graphics is missing pretty much the only universal standard marking. Still a beaut though - keep an eye on the classifieds
  13. Strange question, but where do I find the sizing on an On One inbred? Selling for a friend and not a clue what the size is. He's not sure either... it's either a small or medium. I would guess medium judging by the top tube - but the frame is just no labelled. I guess I should just measure it up and google the sizing charts, but maybe there is some secret place where the sizing is hidden and I can save myself a couple minutes? Thanks in advance
  14. It's the standard here... haven't a clue why. It's not always 100% like that, but I would say the average race has water points around that gap. Might have something to do with getting people into a hydration routine for Comrades, but I'm just guessing here...
  15. There are water points every 3km's in most SA races... They ran out of water - which people rely on rather heavily, especially when it's hotter.
  16. 50km race... no water from 27- 42km according to my club mates. That's not fun.
  17. It happens at every hot race and 90% of them get it right. Om die Dam as an example has been extremely hot most years - there was nothing new there. It was hotter two years ago FYI Bottom line, you always cater for extra... 5 water points is not a mistake, it's piss poor planning and they should have been prepared. They knew their entry numbers, they know the conditions, they have taken peoples money and should be adequately prepared.
  18. Pretty much the same thing... sachet is made from seaweed, so you can eat it or just drink it. I think they've already tried them in some big international marathons last year
  19. Bio-degradable water sachets are coming... hopefully they're affordable
  20. If anyone is looking for a Two Oceans Ultra Entry - drop me a pm You can take it off my hands minus the subs cost to switch it to your name... On the same note, if anyone has a half or trail run entry going - let me know? Thanks
  21. We stayed right by the start, made logistics a pleasure. It still looked like the traffic was a bit of a balls up - there were Ultra runners still going over the start mat half an hour after the gun. It's just not realistic to get that many people down a single road. I also seriously do not understand why registration was not at the start finish like last year - not to mention no address was given - just Harties Running Club which doesn't even register on Google Maps. So apart from having to drive off to the other side of town, you also needed a little luck to find it. They also committed the cardinal sin of running out of water... it was super hot, but it generally always is, so it's not really an excuse. Some of the guys from our club didn't have water or 3-5 water points straight. That's asking for serious poo... especially when the temp on the road is in the high 30's I just ran the 21km... my physio warned me doing the Ultra would be suicide. So for once I listened and sadly had to kiss my OMTOM good bye. It was a good thing I downgraded though as I only just kept it together for the 21km, last 6 odd kms's was pretty rough as my whole right hip area was pretty determined to seize up, but I just made sure not to stop and give it a chance too. I would never have made the Ultra. Ran 2:02, it was a pretty tough route, it's just never flat around there. Was pretty cool to watch the winning Ultra guys come in... 5 Nedbank runners dominated the race, all coming home in under 3hrs for the 50km. Hoping to run the Run Zone Northern Chase 32km this Sunday, should be a good step up and hopefully put me in position to qualify for Comrades at Jackie Gibson. Lot's of work to do personally.
  22. Not ideal... Likely semis City vs Juve Barca vs Liverpool City vs Barca final I reckon? Some absolute crackers in there Hopefully my team can somehow upset the Pep apple cart, but they're really just not a team we handle well. Pretty much our worst possible draw in my books.
  23. I hear you, but there also wasn't a long line of teams wanting to face Cavani, Mbappe and Neymar in the quarters already
