Simply pointing out that if something is not covered on gcn and you really want to watch it you can get dstv compact plus for R529 instead of paying for the premium package. I think most people assume that the cycling is only part of the full premium package on dstv.

Ok, perhaps I was misunderstood. I fully understand the difference in cost. What I was getting at is that you can subscribe to GCN+ for most of the cycling coverage and then in the months that say for example the tdf is on you can pay for that 1 month dstv compact plus instead of dstv premium to get the cycling coverage that is not on GCN.

Just fyi. Dstv compact plus for R529 contains all of the variety channels so if all you want to watch is cycling then you don't have to pay for the full premium package.

In my case the proposed tariffs will actually suit me well. I have 2 houses and my workshop all running on 1 meter so my usage is very high as about three quarters of it is at the higher tier. We currently pay Eskom about R4000 a month.

Those are some interesting statistics. However, the one I am interested in is not the percentage of page impressions that the off topic section gets compared to the whole site but rather the percentage of the forum section only. I appreciate that only 3.5 percent of the users are active in the off topic section but I would guess that a lot of them are orders of magnitude more active than other casual visitors to the whole site in general. Is it possible to tell us how many page views the whole forum gets compared to how many page views the off topic section gets? Thanks.

The only real difference is that you do 1 less uphill rep. You start the ride at the top of the climb and end it at the bottom.
