  1. I've had 2 Buzzracks. Shouldn't have sold the first one, but I did and ended up buying the same one again. The Buzzrack agent in Midrand was very helpful when I needed a new lock and straps, and I had no issue with the prices of spare parts either. Definitely get one that tilts, it makes getting access to the rear door of your car a breeze. Maybe someone else can chime in about which models don't work, but I haven't seen a tilting rack that still didn't provide access to the rear of a hatchback/SUV. You're out of luck if your car's rear door swings open to the side, which is what I had the first time round and there's no rack that works for that.
  2. Do you know of anyone that's still keen for the same weekend as the race would have been?
  3. Found 2 bands that I think do phenomenal covers and mashups, Scary Pockets and Pomplamoose.
  4. Agreed on the above post about DVO suspension. That being said, this is a great bike and there are other models which might save a few bucks and hassles and still be just as great of a bike. I'm always +1 on a Trance
  5. Lord Goblin Chicken Curry of Giant
  6. I'm in the CBD. I can send you a pic of my frame so you know what kind of "smash into stuff" testing I can do ????????‍♂️
  7. Yeah, thanks. I'm referring to the trails that aren't marked as bike trails. Would be cool to ride north on trails, overnight, and then ride back on other trails. Even if it includes hike-a-biking.
  8. I haven't spent much time in Cederberg because I'm still fairly new to the Western Cape in general. But I'm heading there next weekend. I'm not very interested in gravel grinding and I know there are a couple of nice trails, especially around Sanddrif. But, does anyone have any experience riding any of the other other stuff that's listed on Trailforks? I assume most are mainly hiking trails, but I've found before that good multi use hiking trails make for great bike trails.
  9. Does that mean you are looking for 2 people to get a group discount?
  10. Ugh, I ride around this area a couple of times a week, mostly on my own. I always thought it was relatively safe around here.
  11. Talking about impractical cars, if this dude can get his bike on his Porsche, I'm sure we can find a solution for you...
  12. Ah man, it's unfortunate to see people decide to use drastic measure like that. But it's just as frustrating to see the kind of damage these guys do with big bikes. In Witfontein, George there have been multiple incidents of guys riding right up Cradock Pass over the mountain and it gets absolutely destroyed when a motorbike goes up there. We saw a group head up one day and tried to talk to the, they were super aggressive and had zero regard. Next time we were there, one of the guys rode down into a valley and fell into a river with his bike. I wasn't going to give the guy a hard time for riding there, I thought being stuck down there is punishment enough
  13. Any new details regarding the event?
  14. Took this on Magic Link the other day. Thought it looked cool.
  15. Yee-haw!
  16. I've been using a Foamo in the rear only. I didn't notice much change to the bike or the way it handles, but I'm dead sure it's saved me from some nasties. I'm not graceful at all and put some big dents in the rear rim, but haven't added to the collection since adding the Foamo. Deffo would buy and install again, wish I did earlier.
  17. I, for one, don't understand the gravel bike craze. It's like someone really missed what riding bikes in 1972 felt like. Imagine we had to go back to steam powered cars? I think there are great value mountain bikes that'll fit your needs.
  18. If anyone needs another person for a group buy, I'm interested.
  19. Welp, this thread seems quiet considering the newest development
  20. In case anybody is looking for a jacket. https://www.onedayonly.co.za/jacket-dbx-1-0-teal-1.html https://www.onedayonly.co.za/jacket-dbx-4-0-all-mountain-1.html?src=similar_block https://www.onedayonly.co.za/jacket-dbx-5-0-all-mountain-1.html
  21. Ah, that's a shame. I did this race a couple of years ago and started before the masses. I have done only 1 race (K2C) since and I'm not sure where I'd start if I did the 50km, so not sure entering is even worth it.
  22. Anyone know how the crowds are in the 72km race? I remember the 50km race was an absolute zoo at every obstacle a couple of years ago, is it any better in the longer race? I'm asking because I don't really enter many races like these and will probably start in later groups, but if it's going to be a traffic jam from start to finish I might reconsider.

  24. I have zero issues with mounting WTB's. No more than any other tubeless tyre :/ Their Tough High Grip tyres are ridiculous at the moment. Got a 2.6 Vigilante on the front and I'm so damn impressed with that tyre.
  25. When did Haro start making bikes like this?? I haven't seen the name since I rode BMX in high school.
