  1. When I was a kid we blew our warts away to the moon during full moon. But then you may not look at the moon again for that evening. Maybe that will help?
  2. Shimano XT Shimano SLX Shimano Deore.
  3. How old are you, son?
  4. Clint Eastwood bro.
  5. You are right there. Sometimes you wish for a easier ratio than a 24 chainring and a 11-36 cassette.
  6. One BIG thing would be if Shimano brings out a 11-42 10 speed cassette. That would sell like hotcakes. I will be the first in line.
  7. For sure. I'll be riding with Underachiever. And I will be wishing he would underachieve so that I can keep up with him.
  8. Pull the hub apart. Are you SURE all the spares are present in your hub? http://www.dtswiss.com/Technology/Hub-technology There is a tubular spacer (not numbered but visible on the above link) on the axle. Is it there?
  9. Will they last or not? Who knows. I did the CPT on Crests in 2012. They survived without a scratch. I destroyed 2 WTB frequency rims in the Barberton Classic in 2013. My partner banged his rear Arch EX rim during the 2013 Epic on a blooming side walk! Roll of the dice. Statistically speaking a stronger rim will last longer. Very much like some kind of rare disease. Say only one in 1000000 of people gets it. But you are the chosen one. Then your chances are 100%.
  10. Arch EX or WTB Frequency i19's
  11. The 'first aid kit' always makes me smile.. If you take a kit worth anything, where are you going to put it. It will be big. With some splints and a few rolls of crepe bandage and a neck collar. And maybe a few bags of IV fluids. If you take something small. what are you going to achieve with your 2 band aids? Maybe I read to much 'The far side' comics by Gary Larsen when I was younger.
  12. There are too many things that can 'flex' It can be the spokes. And it probably has a lot to do with the rim BUT check out other stuff as well. The tire: pump it harder. And get one with stronger sidewalls. A rim with a wider profile will reduce 'tire flex' A thing that happened to my stage race partner this year was that the axle(qr) 'ate' into the slot to such extent that he got a replacement frame. On a steel frame: Check out the length of the stub of the axle that goes into the slot at the back. I have seen axles that are juuust to long for the width of the slot plate. When you tighten the qr, it feels tight, but the qr does not grip the plates properly. See if it helps to remove the springs from the qr. And if you have fancy titanium aluminium qr's, get STEEL units.
  13. Interesting I have been using SRAM links on Shimano chains for years without any hiccup.
  14. I have had only good service from them...
  15. I use 80w90 gearbox oil

Look at the WTB i23 frequency team rims. Costs less than the ZTR's an just as good or better. SLX hubs are not bad. Depending on your budget of course. Rant on. I wish the manufacturers would stop putting these paperweight rims on bikes. I know it is a 'selling point' like the XT rear jockey on a R10k bike. But statistics shows this: http://www.worldwatch.org/nearly-two-billion-people-worldwide-now-overweight (This is not aimed at the OP or anybody. It is aimed at the crafty choices of bike manufacturers. Just to make a quick buck. To state that the bike weighs 11.997kgs without pedals, cages, bar ends etc of course.)
  17. Now if Shimano comes up with a 11-42 10 speed XT level cassette, they will kill the competition with it...
  18. 34 teeth. On my MTB.

You say 'upgrade' What have you got at the moment? Want or need to upgrade?
  20. The biggest thing you will need is to the answer to the question: "But why???"
  21.
  22. I really like my WTB frequency i19's. The DT swiss rim is not a good choice. Te lig in die broek.
  23. Lyk soos Kolmanskop
