  1. Because you're new here (welcome!), and so just for 100% clarity's sake, Fandacious was joking...
  2. Yeah, that launch is just stupidly big, I don't see anyone clearing it anytime soon. Nuts.
  3. Also good, yes.
  4. Tyre preferences are like mullets, every muppet has one, and you're going to get at least a dozen completely contrasting responses. Each respondent will swear by their combination. If it were me, and I rode an Anthem (which most likely doesn't get used for true trail riding, but more for slightly technical marathon riding) I'd stick a Racing Ralph on the back, and a Rocket Ron on the front.
  5. Yes you can, I've done so for a few months...
  6. Haha, that's a very cryptic list! Wait, hang on, are you actually racing?! Catching the train early tomorrow morning to get there, looking forward to it...
  7. Is that a 140mm Revelation you're running on there?
  8. OK, so additional input: Consider a fully built Novatec wheelset if you can, they're surprisingly amazing and not ridiculously expensive. It will most likely be cheaper than to build up your own set of the same level anyway... I'd go with a 2.35 HD on the front, 2.25 is fine for the rear. Note that HDs are not great on hardpack or loose-over-hardpack, but excellent in loamy stuff, so this all depends on where you mostly ride. You should be able to get a 2x10 SLX setup pretty easily, for example here. Headset: Many PYGA owners run Cane Creek's 40. Stem: 70mm should be fine if you go with a 720 or 740mm bar, but this is all down to personal measurements. Some would recommend putting on a 760mm and running it with a 50 or 60mm stem. Either will work! If your budget can stretch to a dropper, try to get one. I was a heathen up until recently but now fully believe that one can't exploit the capabilities of a bike like this without one.
  9. Yeah, I wouldn't put an Evolution Series on a bike with this pedigree. Only Kashima models are really worth it, and at a huge premium. The Evo Float 29 on my previous bike was the worst fork I'd owned since the 90s. Convince yourself to get a Pike. If you can't, get a Revelation, which is almost as good, or even an X-Fusion Trace or Sweep (both are really good as well).
  10. Jawbones (now inherited the Racing Jacket moniker). That is all.
  11. Sweet, thanks! Will give them a go once my RoRo wears out (which won't be long, the rear rubber wears at an alarming rate, I reckon I get about 800km out of one until it's not fit for pinning anymore). At that point I'll have a 2.35 29er HD to give away, the Pacestar on the front just doesn't wear at all!
  12. Has anyone here used WTB Bronsons? I'm thinking of replacing my RoRo (rear) / HD (Pacestar front) combo with either a WTB Wolverine/Weirwolf combo, or Bronsons.
  13. This covers the same trail from 2:30 inwards, but it's from a month ago, before the majority of the rebuild work done.... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/126507-enduro-dh-vids-20/page__st__144?do=findComment&comment=2300677
  14. Droo, seeing as it's always a good idea to ask the expert: I mentioned to LouisS this morning that due to the effect of the negative air spring, one won't have a full 120mm of exposed stanchions showing anyway because the fork sits slightly into its travel at rest - that's a correct statement, right? Mayhem, he's more on the XC riding side, so I reckon 120mm suits his needs perfectly
  15. I fully agree. Plus, the post title is misleading. Gumtree isn't up to anything, it's a platform. Knee-jerk emotional sensationalism galore.
  16. Tsk tsk, your phone should be in your saddlebag... TLD stuff is very, very nice.
  17. Yep, those are the ones I have (but in black), the stretch panel shown via arrow below. If you can find them in blue, they would go amazingly with your bike (you ride the blue Meta AM, right?)
  18. Hi Taahir, are you sure the liner isn't removable? Mine has these little loops which you simply unclip to remove it. I actually rode Sunday's enduro with a 661 Bomber short underneath instead of the accompanying liner. Not sure what you mean by the yoke, my pair has a large stretch panel at the rear below the waist. Overall, they're very comfortable and worth the money. I love the zippable vents at the front, the quality and feel of the fabric (the crash I mentioned left no marks) and the liner itself is particularly good on its own. The only complaint I have is about length, they could be slightly longer to properly fit over pads, like the Fox Rangers or most of TLD's stuff.
  19. Yep, I've crashed with my Dakine Synclines (the ones pictured in Wil6's post) and got off with much less damage to the skin on my thigh than I would have wearing lycra. Importantly, one of the key "protection" elements is having two layers which can move independently from each other, eliminating a surprising amount of friction in the process. Lycra offers practically *nothing* in terms of protection. Oh, and lycra looks crap. I wore it for 20 years, enough is enough
  20. I ride with these and these. The former is excellent value for money, the latter is oh-so-nice.
  21. Which is why I mostly don't sell stuff to out-of-town hubbers (only recently did I sell two items this way). When you're posting someone a R500 item, the time spent to package it, get to the post office and stand in a queue pretty much swallows the entire cost of the item... The majority of us bike riders earn substantially more per hour on average than these admin tasks cost.
  22. Looking good. Difficult to see from the photo angles, is there a bit of a lip before the bridge to encourage jumping it, or not?
