  1. Glad I could help. I am still using the Tom Tom but without the heart rate monitor. Which is useless when training. I have a Garmin Edge 705 for cycling and it is awesome. I would stick with Garmin in future.
  2. I wouldn't recommend the TomTom Multisport. See my post here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/134851-tom-tom-multi-sport-who-has-one/
  3. I don't understand why cycling races are so expensive. I have moved over to the darkside of running. Entering a 42km race costs about R140, and a 21km costs about R80. (This is excluding a temporary licence fee) There are also road closures, marshalls, water tables etc. I think planning a running race or a cycling race will take the same amount of effort/ man power etc. So my question to all cycling race organisers are why is the cycling races DOUBLE the price of a running race? PS. My husband did the Fast one last weekend. He didn't get a goody bag. I did the Johnson Crane race. I got a t-shirt, and a diary.

    Events Calendar 2014

Thanks, I downloaded the calendar from the CSA website, and you are absolutely right, it is incomplete. The Argus is not even on there.
  7. I am looking for an excel sheet/ csv file with all the races for both MTB and Road events for all provinces for 2014. Does anyone know if something like this exists? Thanks in advance!
  8. Have you tested your iron levels at all? Maybe go for a full body check? I have an iron deficiency and I feel terrible/ dizzy when it gets too low. I drink an iron supplement before and sometimes during training as well.
  9. It is actually not worth it to by clothes on CRC, even after the discount.
  10. It said something like "but wait there's more... 40km more" I thought it is quite a clever advertisement. Even if I still had to suffer for 40km...
  11. This was my sixth 94.7. Started in group I at 7:07, people weren't very talkative, I guess not many hubbers in the group... It was seriously hot and I started sweating at 6 already. I did a 3:16 according to my Garmin, 3:18 according to Racetec. 12 minutes faster than last year, definitely training for a sub 3 next year! The good: 1. General organisation of the event. 2. Polo Fields parking - close to the end, don't mind paying for it 3. Awesome support - waterpoints, spectators, medics, marshals 5. The Verimark sign 6. Everyone that contributed in some way or another to a charity. The bad: 1. N14 2. Late comers pushing in from the side 3. The guy changing his tire in the middle of the road on the N14 - wtf... The ugly: 1. JOE SLOVO DRIVE - wow, seriously felt it yesterday 2. Diepsloot "inwoners" taking photos of the dancers in their "sjoe" broekies - shocking...
  12. You should try the Sufferfest videos. It is cheap and so worth it!!
  13. When you go to pick up your number go to the reseeding desk. They will reseed you as long as you have done seeding races in the past year. Any other ladies in group I?
  14. Get a trainer. I had a spinning bike but it is not the same as your own bike.
  15. Today was the first time I did the race. The 78km was super tough. Overall a good race. I would suggest to the race organisers to put the starting times on Cyclelab as nobody knew how late to be at the venue.
  16. Walked 3km up to the Col De Sarennes summit. Waiting for them to arrive around 16:00.
  17. Lekker lag ek vir die post. Dankie julle het my Vrydag gemaak. My grootste gat kramp is anglisismes. Maandag in 'n meeting het 'n vrou die woord "ekspensief" gebruik. Nog een van haar gunsteling woorde is "objektiewe" soos in objectives. Ek sal jou regtig met 'n HAT by kom!!!
  18. I am speechless, he was a true inspiration. Thoughts go out to his family and his wife.

I also want to know. I am starting 40 minutes later than last year and I have improved my time with an hour last year...
  20. Thanks Mons100, they are a handful! Huskies are very energetic and they need a lot of attention.
  21. Meet our two Huskies: Wolraad Woltemade (we just call him Wollie). He is about 9 years old now. The younger one is Rambo... (definitief nie n polisiehond nie) He is 5 years old. We got Rambo when he was 6 weeks old (last photo)
  22. I bought myself a Selle Italia at Westrand Cycles - best buy ever!! Expensive but definitely worth it.
  23. Has anyone used the Veleau Bicycle Mounted Hydration system? I see it is for sale on icycle for R950. I have a small frame and can only fit one bottle cage. At the moment I am using my camelbak while road cycling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NucwTN3F0To
