  1. Hatherly in 1st. Has opened up a bit of a gap on the downhill
  2. Hatherly in second. Same time as 1st place. I think it is 2 laps finished
  3. HypoTucking. You climb inside the front triangle and hold onto the fork.
  4. So, about those 6 women we're allowed to send
  5. "14.01.010 The use of electronic (E-Bikes are not permitted in any form of mountain bike events).Which are run on the same course at the same time.(Modified 01/10/2017)" https://www.cyclingsa.com/s/20180123_CSA-Mountain-Bike-Regulations-January-2018.pdf If it is a CSA sanctioned event, they can't have e-bikes and human powered bikes on the same course at the same time.
  6. In that Twitter link posted a bit earlier, people were posting screenshots of when he went down. It looks like a camera strap caught his handlebar.
  7. I don't think Movistar even know where they stand in regards to the leader; here's a quote from yesterday: Arrieta (Movistar): "Quintana is our only leader"15:32 Movistar’s sport director José Luis Arrieta spoke to letour.fr this morning: “Another race will start for us after the cobblestones stage on Sunday. But we don’t have three leaders. We have only one leader: it’s Nairo Quintana because of his past at the Tour de France.”
  8. Maybe someone should contact him to buy some racing pigeons, then complain that they don't fly straight. You'll then have to send the pigeons to a trainer to teach them to fly straight, and then ask Mark to pay for the training.

  10. Athletes on the Whereabouts program have to designate a specific hour every day that they are willing to be tested. And they have to be at their chosen location for that entire hour. " The information that needs to be submitted: >> A primary residential address. >> Training locations, dates and times. >> Any temporary addresses (e.g. when on holiday). >> Flight information (i.e. flight no. departure and arrival times). >> Competition locations, dates and accommodation details. >> A specific 60-minute time slot and location. During the 60 minute time slot: >> You are required to be available for testing at the nominated location. >> If you need to change this, you can do so right up until the start of the 60-minute time slot. >> You must stay at the designated location for the whole of the 60-minutes." Here's an article on CyclingTips about it: https://cyclingtips.com/2016/06/living-with-the-whereabouts/

    Karkloof Classic

www.facebook.com/Karkloofmtb/posts/1270856189714648 Profiles and elevations for all 4 races (it's in miles and feet though) (I can't get it to post as a link)
  12. Part 4: Mountain Bike Regulations 14.01.010 The use of electronic (E-Bikes are not permitted in any form of mountain bike events). Which are run on the same course at the same time.(Modified 01/10/2017) Either the organisers don't know the rules, or someone snuck their e-bike in, and should be disqualified (and given a 6 year ban )
  13. In the Gauteng series is there a limited amount of schools that can participate; do the organizers limit the amount of schools because there are so many participants in each race that there is over-congestion? If a school has only one pupil who wants to cycle, because all the rest are focusing too much on rugby and netball, would that pupil be allowed to cycle in the series? On the one hand, this pupil goes to a real school so should be allowed to participate, but on the other hand is not in a team, and "individuals do not qualify for our program"
  14. Training does not always mean riding a bike alone in traffic. Training can be done indoors at home or in a gym. A home school kid training for 4 hours before school is the same as a regular school kid training for 4 hours before school, no matter what time school starts. Getting up at 3am is not an issue if you go to sleep at 7PM.
  15. Kids who go to "regular school" could obviously train from 3am til 7am and then start their school day...
  16. Can you plug the unit into a computer and access the activity file? Hopefully it's something like a .fit or .gpx file. Then you can upload the file onto Strava.

    Husqvarna Mid Illovo

Yes. You'll be charged an extra R30 though, and will be put in the last batch.
  18. I once saw a 30 something year old guy beat a 12 year old girl by about 4 seconds in a 20km race, to take first place. For about a year after that he kept reminding all his friends on Facebook that he had won a race.
  19. I had the exact same thing happen with my Sigma BC-2209. The problem was the battery pack being too close to the computer. When I moved the battery pack to the join of the toptube and seat tube, the computer worked fine. I then used insulation tape to attach the cable to the top tube so it wouldn't flap around
  20. Kevin Benkenstein did this ride https://www.strava.com/activities/1048596161 which includes some of the sections which you will probably include in your proposed ride. I think he does these areas quite often and in his ride reports he always comments how he has no issues. i quite often ride the parts between Kamberg, Fort Nottingham and Midmar Dam, and always feel safe. You barely even see any people in those parts.
  21. I think HV knows MW is catching up, so is pushing harder, and pulling away from JD. JD won't mind, as there is not an overall winner's prize, so she will still easily get the women's winners prize.
  22. Sarah Hammond won Race to the Rock in Australia. She was the only female participant and won by over a hundred km. https://cyclingtips.com/2016/09/race-to-the-rock-unstoppable-sarah-hammond-wins-outback-odyssey/
  23. 20.1. Drafting of a competitor is only allowed up to the first Race station. http://themunga.com/rules
