  1. Thanks Nico Any idea on price?
  2. I noticed Gary Barnard had a pretty cool Pyga shirt on for the Welvenpas Enduro. Anybody know where I can get one of those?
  3. Double post
  4. Took my Pyga for its first "out of town" session at Rhebokskloof yesterday. WHAT A RIDE!!! Pyga just ate up the single track. Felt so good I kept forgetting to wait for the guys I was riding with. Getting the hang of climbing with her as well. Momentum is your friend with the 29er.
  5. Evidently I did 1:57 , so probably finished just after you.
  6. Hi Tom Yes that was me. How'd you do in the end? My cycle computer gave me just over 2 hours.
  7. Surprised to see Nuno Schurter mixing it up in bunch sprint finish. Boy has more tricks up his sleeve than a magician. Forgot to mention, had a good ride out of 4a. Chaos getting into starting area meant I missed my group, but still a good 2 hrs in the saddle.
  8. From my one ride on my OneTen, the frame seems quite small. Handles brilliantly. U might have to play around with stem length and seat position, but I reckon you'll be able to get a fit on an M. I would try and test it out first though, as u don't want to drop that amount of cash on the wrong size.
  9. Took my new OneTen 29 out for a few ride today. Blown away at how she eats up the rough stuff. Converted from 26 hardtail, so wheel size and full suss were both new to me. Super stoked with my purchase. As expected, I found the Fox fork to be a bit under spec for this build, but it's a stop gap measure until I can afford (ie until my wife lets me buy) a better fork (Pike/MRP/X Fusion probably)
  10. Definitely one for the bucket list. Great photos btw. Really stunning!!! Looks like you guys had a blast.
  11. Was wondering who stocked Funn in Cape Town. Will give you a call next time I'm in the market for some Funn.
  12. For bar / stem I bought Funn Fat Boy bar and Funnduro stem. Haven't had a chance to build yet, but pricing was very reasonable when compared to other AM equipment (eg Spank). Also gets good reviews and looks really solid. Available online directly from the distributor www.performancebikes.co.za. Great support so far. Delivered within two days of placing order, answered e-mail queries within 24 hours.
  13. Been busy shopping: Pyga Oneten 29 frame Fox fork Ashima Rotors Superstar hubs Rapide rims Funn Fatboy bar Funnduro 60mm stem Funn seatpost Maxxis tyres: Ardent for front and Ikon rear Going to have it built up next week, pics to follow. Super excited!!!!!
  14. Hi Pyga Peeps I've just laid my grubby paws on a One Ten 29 frame :-). Early Christmas present from my wife. Keen for a green shirt if you're still ordering in Jan. Super keen to get this baby built.
  15. Regarding the wheels, I have a 26" set of these and they're evidently OEM wheels found on Giant (and now Trek) bikes. They're not the lightest, but they're bulletproof. A step up from most entry level wheels, so a good mid-level wheelset.
  16. Buddy of mine had XX rd, got some grass caught in the jockey wheels on one ride and that was the end of that. Somehow the spring got broken beyond repair, so light but definitely not durable. If you're racing at the sharp end of races, and have a mechanic waiting for you at the end of a ride then XX is for you. Otherwise X0 or even X9 will more than suffice. Personal experience, X9 is bulletproof and half the price of X0, even if marginally heavier.
  17. I've seen some of the proposals for the Manor which were circulated as part of the EIA, and it looks pretty cool. Lots of effort going into keeping the rural theme, and the character of the building. As the building is a national monument they'll be very limited as to wot they can do with the exterior of the building.
  18. I rode it two weeks back, and had to use the face brake method of stopping after hitting a root at speed after the rock berm  . Much laughter at home when I explained how I went straight over the bar and ended up head down in front of the bike. Lucky no injuries. The trail is riding beautifully though. The shortcoming was in my skill level rather than the trail :whistling: .
  19. Awesome to see two Saffers in the top 10. Big up to Needles!!! Didn't get to watch, but it must have been quite a run. Anybody know if Supersport is going to air the highlights?
  20. Track looks like a great mix of technical and flowy bits. That section through the forest is HECTIC!!!! Loved the commentary, will have to come back for the next round to hear the song he chooses .
  21. Superb balance
  22. I must say, the number of trail runners has noticeably increased over the past few months. Last year you'd see the same face running maybe every third week. Now its different people all the time, and I've seen runners almost every ride for the past month. Having said that, the vast majority of runners were on the jeep track, Sunday was the first time I saw somebody running up the DH trail (or any ST for that matter).
  23. With the new and improved Vasbyt, and the speed you carry, I think its time to start the debate about changing Vasbyt to a down only route. Speed + jumps + blind corners don't gel well with both runners and ascending bikers. But I think this was discussed in another fred, so hijack off.
  24. I saw one guy running up the DH trails on Sunday afternoon. Guy basically followed the trail up Vasbyt, up the DH trail above Vasbyt all the way to the top of Boulders. Crazy. He was seriously lucky that it was a quiet Sunday afternoon, I know the DH guys are normally about on Sundays.
