Hi watch Fundis Looking for a bit of help identifying and valuing this watch. The most I can find is that it is manufactured between 1903 and 1906. It is not a pocket watch but the back cover opens in that fashion to expose the mechanism. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks D

Yup, Was still in the army, so even though it was illegal to leave the country made the trek to ZIm in my bright Orange Ford Escort! Awesome couple of days. For swimming try and get to a bigger pool every now and then. The difference training in a 25m and 50m pool is vast! Inland guys, once you are comfortable try and get into a dam or lake just to get the feel of it, its a very different world when there are no sides or bottom to stand on. Coastal guys, there are plenty of opportunities to get into the sea in a controlled environment. Try and get to it at least once before an event. Open water swimming can be very daunting on your first experience and it can really bugger up your day if you are scared/nervous/ out of your depth. Lots of time and money wasted if you don't complete the swim. Breathing in a pool with lane separators is a different beast to being in the water with the rest of the guys making additional waves and splashing. Remember, it may not be the place to make up time but it can affect the rest of your day if you muck it up!

Socks and Elastic laces for the win! The couple of seconds used to dry feet and put socks on is equal to time saved with elastic laces. Also elastic laces have the right pressure on feet. Used the same socks for cycle and run on IM with no problems.

If you aren't already slapping yourself, I will slap you! But don't worry, Its happened to more than one of us. I moved from the RZ50 to RZ125 to RD350. Then sold the 350 when I got married! Moment of weakness as the marriage lasted less time than I had the bike!

According to Bellairs on KFM this morning, stakeholders will be meeting at 11am. Meeting will take most of the day. A decision HAS to be made today on route etc for logistic reasons! So lets just wait until this afternoon and see what transpires!
