  1. I hope he does well and makes the step up to the WT team from the conti one.
  2. '18 and 19' were both Eritreans weren't they? I forget which riders though.
  3. You'd think so. That whathisname bloke won the Italian Champs and the Euro champs the same year, last year, and wore the Euro jersey all year, didn't he? So continental champs > national.
  4. Sunday's Misty Ride:
  5. Not today, couple of weeks ago:
  6. I heard Pritzen was riding? My money would be on him.
  7. Glen Marikana has a name...
  8. Whoa. R1.6 million for 2 street lights?
  9. "To finish first, you first must finish" - Charles Jarrott
  10. Which other grand tour did he lose on the last day? I can only recall the tour last year?
  11. Why? Any wax you put on is going to be stripped right off with the dishwashing liquid at the next wash. Also, it can't be nourishing anything, the carbon layers are well sealed inside an impervious resin. If they are not, you have a bigger issue than a dirty bike. But, like a car, a good polish with a proper product will make it look good and help keep the paint/finish in good condition. But don't use dishwashing liquid, it strips the polish off. It's why the taboo on sunlight being used on cars, it eventually strips everything away down to the bare paint and then the UV damage is horrid.
  12. Yeah, the lower your score, the more of a menace you've been it looks like.
  13. What on earth? Remember the bad old days when Johan Bornman told us all he'd leave a carbon fishing rod in a bucket of acetone for a week to show us all how robust carbon and resin is? What could possibly be in a product sold as a bike wash that it would damage a carbon frame? I think the OP is confused here.
  14. Not even close, noob.
  15. Yeah, even when driving the car, assuming you have right of way is getting to be dangerous.
  16. I had a weird fizzing noise that would appear intermittently the once. It eventually turned out to be the cable from the FD just touching the rear tyre at a certain point with the chain on the big ring. I nearly stripped the entire bike apart before I discovered what it was.
  17. It must have been about 5:10
  18. I watched 8 episodes of Season 1 of Mr Mayor yesterday. That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Ted Danson has gotten funnier with age (his and mine I think).
  19. Yup. Broken femur was what the surgery was for.
  20. Don't you mean front derailleur? The rear one would need a foot of cable sticking out or a half meter long crank arm?
  21. Training buddy of mine going through a green light yesterday had a car turn across in front of him. Hit and run, left him lying in the middle of the intersection and drove off. You and your bike will come off second best. Be careful out there, it's a war zone.

    The Classics

I read it in a similar way. Also, MvdP is targeting mtb and whatnot at the olympics, whilst Wout is targeting a green jersey and stage wains (and helping Primoz smoke Bernal in the mountains again) at the Tour. Different goals 3-4 months down the road will have them at different points in their preparation now.
  23. In compact frames, you'll look for a L. In old school language, you'll look for something in the region of a 60cm c-c(t), up to 62 (you could look 58/59 and fiddle with stem/position/etc)
  24. The correct way is to get a junior cassette. CX bike? Sure he can use that I guess, but, he'll likely not enjoy the experience of being so slow compared to the small race snakes.
