  1. Quick question: The Vogelslang(hahaha!) guy who came second today. Is he the same guy who won the Epic with team Cannondale Vredenstein a few years ago?
  2. If you adjust the limit screws correctly you cannot shift higher than the middle ring position.
  3. OK, Seems like your crank has a fixed spider with 104/64 BCD 4-bolt pattern. You can convert to 2x10 quite easily but there might be a slight compromise on chainline. These rings will fit your current crankset: Small ring 26T ( fits onto your 64 BCD tabs): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54369 Middle ring 38T( fits to the inner side of your 104 BCD tabs): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54368 After fitting these you just need to adjust your front derailleur clamp height as well as your FD limit screws to suit the new shifting limits and you are good to go. When I was still into Marathon racing in 2009 I converted a 3x9 groupset this way and used a 38/26 2x9 setup on a 29er hardtail and it ran trouble free for 10 000 + km. The chainrings will obviously wear a bit faster on a 2x setup. Mine lasted about 4500-5000km.
  4. Alban Lakata's SRM data for the race. I am not a power based training expert so perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge can comment on this:
  5. The black stanchions from RockShox are looking better and better to me:
  6. Rocky Mountain Instinct MSL
  7. Apologies if you feel that I am derailing this thread. Wasn't meant as trolling, I had the photo on my phone and thought it was apt.
  8. Yip very rideable, 1.7km long and a fairly skilled rider will be able to ride everything on an AM bike. I am not there yet My plan is to ride the DH course on my Shova without any chicken runs this weekend. Will report back on Monday. That entire place is just fun, fun, fun, definitely my favourite trail.
  9. The downhill and XCO course is awesome, I rode both this past weekend. Very nice. In addition to the XCO and DHI courses there is about 40km of glorious singletrack on the property. Most exciting trail in the Eastern Cape! Cannot wait to watch SA champs!!
  10. Check out the super automatic machines from Jura. Then you just need a supplier of freshly roasted beans and you are good to go.
  11. All those external adjustments on the Zocchi, makes me think of this:
  12. I use a hand grinder and Aeropress, and it is awesome. But I only drink coffee at home over weekends which means that it is not too much trouble to use a hand grinder. The key is to use beans that were roasted less than two weeks ago, and after that the quality of your grinder plays a huge role.
  13. Events taking place there this weekend: CRANKWORX LES 2 ALPES Cannondale Enduro Les 2 Alpes Hutchinson Dual Climb Whip Contest Polygon Air DH supported by Fox GT Dual Speed & Style Les 2 Alpes Pump Track Challenge presented by RockShox Teva Best Trick Showdown Crankworx Les 2 Alpes Slopestyle presented by IXS

  15. With the next DHI world cup more than three weeks away, I think many of the world cup racers will be at this one as well. Looking forward to this weekend!
  16. Alutech Fanes - Pinion
  17. Which model WTB rims do you currently have?
  18. Those Durolux forks look very nice, and one of the top French Enduro riders use one on his Caminade.
  19. For Fork Sakes!!!!
