  1. should have got one of these. just over double the price but fully adjustable and metal so it doesn't flex and vibrate so much that you can't read anything. Got great service from dirkpieper@trisave.co.za
  2. yip. Have to agree with you on the weight. But I think it is in the hubs as I've seen them and they look like proper AM hubs. The hubs also have something like 82 pionts of engagement with the free hub. Oh and I know a few people who have now got these on there pyga's and they are massivly stiffer than crests.

  4. the old Belgotex Carpets hill climb about 500m ascent over 8.8km average 7% grade 22min 55sec Daryl Impy in 2003 but I am sure this was broken John-Lee Augustyn in 2005.
  5. Been in the pipeline for a while. Sep 2012 http://www.dcrainmak...mart-crank.html http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/stages-cycling-stageone-power-meter-interbike-2012-35270/

  7. I tend to see a lot of people taking to the hub to moan about the LBS's not gettting back to them. 1. Yes you the customer are important but you are not the only customer. 2. If you really wont something. Swallow the stupid arrogant pill of im not going to use a LBS that doesn't get back to me. So pick up the phone and call them. If after a couple times of them not getting back to you then cut your losses. 3. Bike shop's also have deal with suppliers and they to don't get back to them. 4. If you wont something badly enough you will find a way. And at the end of the day when you have your dream bike all the blod sweat and tears will be worth it. Rant over
  8. Failure to uncleat.
  9. that looks like the lever could have broken off the axle.
  10. http://www.birzman.com/products.php?src=prod&prod_sn=56 should be available for your lbs
  11. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you might have a Chinese rip off of a Cervelo S5. I might be wrong but check where the rear derailleur cable exits the frame, this should be on the rear chain stay through a grommet and not through a hole at the end of the stays. Check what BB the frame takes, should only be a BBright. And the top of the seatpost should be very thin where the saddle clamp goes through. Just a heads up.
  12. Just my 2c. I work in retail and yes the customers are king. But they are not always right. I personally think CPA is used way to much as a scare tactic by customers. From the sounds of things it was the attitude of the owner that would have pissed me off rather than the 5%. You do get that odd customer know it all who will demand "x" when they need "y" and then accept no responsibility and blame the LBS. Or the customer who charges In and demands a new bike because a shifter has broken due to forcing it after the bike being left in the rain and the cables rusting. The matching prices is a har one due to when stock was purchased and in what quantities and then the postage cost as well as chain stores getting discounts. But don't ask me to match a online stores price. And then there's the guy who buys a bike from a different shop and there is now moment between the fork stantions and the crown. So he brings it to us and we send it off for warranty and give the customer one of our loan fork. The supplier do not have stock as this is a trail fork so the part will come on the next shipment in a month. The customer now blows our heads off and states that he wants his fork in 2 days or we must give him a new one off the shop floor. These are the guy's who I hate to say I'd rather not have there business because they buy online and then wont you the LBS to provide the service at no charge. In finishing I would have to say attitude and service to the customer is what keeps them coming back rather than price to a degree. Rant over:D
  13. Very valid point. Would agree with you for the average rider. But as I luckily have access to all the tools and spend every day in a bike shop there is very little hassle.
  14. Have a look in the classified section. 26inch carbon wheel will have to go cheap as there is no real market for high end 26inch stuff unless you are a small woman or a top youth race snake. So probably 6-8k max on the dt swiss and about the same on the EDGE if they are what I think they are (road wheel) but then tubular or clinchers. And this all depends on wear and tear

  16. what crank/chainring combo you running on that bad boy
  17. Happen to work in a bike shop. So have had the pleasure of using nearly every brake out there. In the weight vs performance and power. These are untouchable. Initial bite is not as vicious as Shimano's so you don't have that on or off brake feel. So better modulation and feeling of when the wheel is on the verge of locking up, but still have enough power to shoot you over the bars in a hurry. Maintenance and upkeep is virtually non existent. Have cut and shortened the brake lines with no need to rebleed. They also have a great piston retraction system so clearence with rotors is very good. Setup is a cinch. They use dot 4 so you can get it anywhere. Price is no to bad when compared with xtr, xx, hope x2.
  18. yea you probably right. The first 3 weeks were interesting, but now that my rear end has molded to the saddle its all good for 6+ hours. Is does help that im running 27.2 seatpost with about 330mm out the frame to there is about 20mm of flex
  19. You may only grace a Cannondale Ultimate with ENVE's anything else is SACRILEGE If you can afford an Ultimate then you can afford ENVE’s. Very stiff, strong and light. Oh and as far a i know the Ultimate's come standard with ENVE's These are the perfect match.
  20. If you got the skills then is good fun. just not ROCK GARDENS We used to go hit the cycle lab bike park in JHB on our BMX's. Now that was a proper work out.
  21. I have the 2013 R1 Racing brakes and love them. As for these cylinder is shorter so the lever is now closer to the bar plus the lever has been redesigned. As for the master cylinder now being put under tension rather than compression the wear and tear is reduced greatly. It’s like pulling something out of a pipe rather than trying to stuff it in. there are also now two bleed ports on each lever one top and bottom depending on which side you have your front and rear lever, so that bleeding doesn’t require brake removal. For the R1 Racing start at 3mins.
  22. Test, Test, Test everyone is different. I’m as skinny as well ""a spoke ie: 1.88m and 58kg" but i find a pure carbon Selle Italia SRL to be great. Oh and do get a decent set of bibs with a good chamois.
  23. hahaha. I blame this on my phone's predictive text function.
  24. New leavers
  25. They have been around for a couple months internationally. They are constructed in a similar way to the now bankrupt and no longer made Mad Fiber wheels except for how the spokes attach to the hubs, how the spokes are tensioned and the hubs them selves. As far as I know the spokes are double length so both ends are bonded to the rim opposite each other and clip into the hubs in the middle. The front hub is carbon and the rear aluminium.
