  1. To me it just seems this is a blatant and lazy rip-off, just took the exact logo and wrote transport instead of racing shox
  2. Has anyone ever seen this transport company that has blatantly ripped off the fox logo? Seems like someone should sort them out. Or is that ok?
  3. I just got a demo set of G-form (I think thats what its called) elbow pads. They soft foam things that apparently go hard on impact. Look and feel cool must now see how they work.
  4. It wasn't that windy. I heard stories of previous years being proper windy so I thought it was fine. Nice and warm:-) The swim was quite choppy. Like all good Hubbers should I was way better on the bike than anything else.
  5. My first triathlon done. Wasn't too hard at all. But I did do the minimum. I was ultracrap in the swim, despite having borrowed a 2xu wetsuit from Dan Hugo. Then I dominated on the bike. Timetrial position on flat roads suits me very well. Maintained on the run for a 63rd place which I'm happy with.
  6. I'm doing jailbreak the short one. Its my first triathlon. Anyone know what the course is like? Route maps on the website don't say anything about the profile and I've never been there before. Is it quite flat?
  7. Ok. I went to all three links and I think I must agree with the previous comments. I'm not saying that you need top end stuff, its just that its worth going a small step up the chain. I had SLX on my first bike and it was awesome. Steer clear of 8x3 groupset. Silverback usually have the best specs per pricerange on their bikes.
  8. The Alu flash with best specs will weigh almost exactly the same as the carbon 3. I heard the difference in weight between the two is minimal. better components are the way to go.
  9. How the flip do you sit on that seat? My knees would be chafing against my armpits.
  10. Also new to it. Doing the Jailbreak in a couple weeks. Are TT bars allowed there?
  11. I have the 2014 camber expert. It's a winner. No brain, CTD front and back. Comes with the command post internal routed dropper which is awesome and looks way cleaner and cooler than the older droppers. I found out that the Fork is actually a 120mm fork with a spacer so you can adjust it to make it 120mm but I have no intention of doing that because on descend mode it's pretty plush. I really like the bike so far. And the wheels it comes with are awesome.
  12. What is the name of that place that hosts a waterpoint on the race, I think it was day 1 of Sani. It's a home for mentally handicapped people I think. I have been meaning to look it up since I did the race, those people were very cool.
  13. Did the portage last week on the w2w route recce. pick up your bike onto your back is the best way for the second half. First bit is quite narrow with bushes so just push.Rather overtake as you nearing the crest if you are feeling strong because others will be slowing down, but you'll have plenty of time to decide on the way up. Any shoes should be fine.
  14. Cable tie in your saddlebag. Came in very useful at J2C.
  15. It's quite hard to get the fork separated and if you do it wrong you can definitely damage the lefty. As far as I remember you loosen the weird screw thing which you need the BB tool for and then you knock it up until it gets your stem off.
  16. Do it. There's no excuse for littering. People need to grow up and get some gumption.
  17. Agreed. They should take the initiative and arrange something, use their gumption. Pretty weak to say that if everyone else organises then maybe they'll help. Weak.
  18. It is a derailer issue.there is a screw which determines the 'limit' if I'm correct. Sounds like a few adjustments will sort that out.
  19. Yeah. I don't have a watch and not a ppa member so no timing chip. Wanted to know how badly my brother beat me.
  20. Race was actually really good. Did the long route and obviously it was super wet but still really nice. Funny thing tho my nose started bleeding for no reason and I had blood all over my face and my leg and my bike so everyone thought I had the meanest crash ever.
  21. We are in grabouw for the weekend, also wanted to ride that idealfruit race, but it has been raining serious monkeyballs all night. It is proper flooded and still raining and windy. Perhaps if I race tm I'll have a chance to get top ten, if only ten ppl show up in the rain
  22. Evobikes always good service. Online websites like that offer good value for people who know about bikes and wanna save money. If you are somewhat ignorant, you go to a shop where there are people who's job it is to help you buy what you need; BUT.. you pay more for the product because they have bigger expenses. Evobikes is very good at what they do.. you get good deals on stuff without all the interaction.
  23. That's why I don't like to pay carguards. They just stand there and get in my way. Then if anything does get stolen they have no responsibility and 'weren't there'. Balls man
  24. "30 clear pictures from it per second..right?" Not quite. Most cameras shoot interlaced frames, which means it actually only shoots 30 half-frames per second, and the half is made up of every second horizontal line of pixels. Also, full HD does mean it is a certain size but says almost nothing about the quality, which depends more on the size and quality of the image-sensor. Also, small handycams do tend to compress video farily harshly, hence you can get so many hours of footage on the drive. A better option to try extract stills is to use editing software. You can export frames more accurately and you can deinterlace the footage. If you know anyone who edits they will most likely be able to help. But ya, editing software is your best bet.
