  1. Well what is the weight penalty for going to coil? About 500g? It's quite a bit if so. But I suppose it's at a decent spot on the bike, but again, where do you draw the line? I see guys on here with beautiful carbon bikes, developed to give you the best DH capacity possible for sub 13kg. And then they go an slowly add and add and add in the name of "performance". Well, sure, but your bike now weighs 16kg, climbs like shite and is still nowhere near a DH bike. Why not just pour lead down your seat tube and be done with it?
  2. Looks light, though article has no weight yet.
  3. And braking performance? I can immediately pick up a massive difference between the Slaughter which is pretty much a RR and the Ground Control I'm running on the back now. Much harder to break traction but also brakes much better so I can brake later.
  4. I weigh 90kg. Run the Ground Control Grid 2.3" at 26psi and the Minion DHF DD 2.3" front at 28 psi. Works for me, but still playing around. Front may be a tad hard still, but I am a front heavy rider.
  5. Going to run Minion DHF with DD casing 2.3" front and Ground Control Grid 2.3" out back for the wet season. Loved the Butcher / Slaughter combo, but with both in control casing the rear got too squishy so I have to run impractical pressures to prevent squirly landings.
  6. Rode Jonkers for the first time in a while this weekend. Stoked to see the full Top to Bottom line of the old Double Black is open again (jumps not built yet but rest is there). Gave it a bash, it's dry and drifty. Then some Oom Hansie jumps and Flow. Thought it was Autumn so imagine my surprise when halfway into my ride I ascend the Firehut climb in mid-thirties temperatures. Needless to say, near heat-stroke combined with a completely botched setup on my new Ohlins (got my rebound confused and ran it super fast) and a mild cross-wind resulted in a one-way ticket to destination F*cked. Miraculously only my body got wrecked. Bike is fine #priorities Still, Jonkershoek though.
  7. USD vs ZAR 11% lost. In one week. Enjoy your trip.
  8. I can show you a pic of the ZAR right now. To get them weeping. Europe becoming an ever more distant fantasy. At least for us not earning in USD.
  9. Which would make sense. Golfers and people who ride e-bikes. Same-same, but different.
  10. But you'll happily have them pour you that e-bike Koolaid hey
  11. Judging by the survey results people on this site are weird.
  12. Bike looks like a monster.
  13. Awkward. SA bike brand's most anticipated release is revealed on a Canadian site, visiting an Asian bike expo. Bikehub, you guys are kissing the wrong asses.
  14. Ja the Epiphany is 6Fatty, which looks k@k.
  15. It's raw carbon with decals on it. It looks good IRL. The linkage is the Marmite bit.
  16. Yeah but dude, you can't ride these trails otherwi...oh, wait.
  17. Spotted one at Jonkershoek recently. Took a picture:
  18. Yip, always walk past one at the ASG shop in Paarl and it's a looker. Pity the rear is a piece of trash according to Pinkbike.
  19. Is that the Chatsworth custom version?
  20. YEah, but with such a slack HA already, why even bother with that. Slap a 120mm Pike on this and be a happy man.
  21. And then I jizzed. in. my. pants.
  22. As soon as I win the lotto I'm going to turn our local park into the best in the country. And then install EMP devices at the trailhead. Come at me bro.
