  1. From all the reports i read before the event i really expected Brondal road to be worse than it was. If that section of road (in the condition it was on Saturday) is the only thing people can complain about, then this must be a pretty good event
  2. Was my first time out and give the race a massive thumbs up, i really enjoyed it. The last 4 weeks leading up to the event wasnt ideal training wise, but still managed a sub 6h. I do not have any complaints, but maybe ASG should think of supplying a bit more info (waterpoints, stopovers, etc.) on what exactly they will be providing during the race to make it easier for first timers to plan their race. Before the race I wondered how my body would react to the long stops, but after a few km on every stage i felt ready to go again (i actually really enjoyed the stops with my fiance and friends). Will be returning next year!!!
  3. Fibre Coming month end. Cannot wait!! been grinding my teeth with slow ADSL.
  4. No they dont. It is a older version of the cycleops bike that they use i think (resistance not even controlled, you still turn the know to increase resitance). Cant remember what the exact story was (something about permision required from cycleops to open up the software, these bikes are a few years old and back then everything did not talk nicely to one another), but the point is that if they did not swap to "newer" bikes it is not possible. Edit: Think this is the bikes they are still using http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61BUL8Y5EbL._SY355_.jpg
  5. Well that's not good news, thought/hoping you might get frustrated enough and through it away...onto the backseat of my car
  6. First time doing this event, actually first road race in some time to be honest (probably why i got such a bad seeding). looking forward to it though

  12. Well maybe i should have a chat with discovery then as i've only received one email from them this entire month and it had no info on what you mentioned. As for facebook, not really a fan. And just to clarify, i did not to the event...my fiance did as indicated above
  13. Someone got up angry this morning...First of all, thank you for the information as i missed it somehow. Secondly, it wasnt a complaint as ive accepted the points allocation system long ago and it is exactly as per their system (she already made her goal for the week in any case and maxed out on points allocated). With all of that said it is nice that they awarded it for the durban event, but doubt if they will award it for some of the smaller events with the same distance
  14. They are lucky they get that many points. My fiance took part in 70.3 durban on Sunday and only got 300 points for her cycle leg of the event Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  15. With about a week left on my warranty, my Fenix's gps decided to stop working (fiance was p!$$ed as she wanted to use it during the IM 70.3 durban on Sunday and it stop working on the saturday ). Took it to garmin and they swopped it out for an early bday present (thats they way i choose to see it).
  16. So my goal was 800 points last week that i did not meet (had a few issues with my garmin). This week it increased to 900. If you dont meet a goal, does it not go down? of is it just going to increase every week regardless of what you are doing?
