    Road results are up. http://results.racetec.co.za/results_by_event.aspx?RID=6482&EN=Powerade%20Lost%20City%20Cycle%20Classic%202014%20%2D%20Presented%20by%20Bestmed%20%28115km%29

Eish, not lekker. I hope your arm heals quickly. What group was this in?
  3. That's awesome! When the train was coming up to you, were you on the tracks, or alongside them? If long distance trekking is your thing, you may be interested in an Audax or two. http://audaxsa.co.za/ (They are road routes however, not mtb.)
  4. Please put a warning on that. NSFW!
  5. Glad you are OK. Please report to cops.

AL in the road race for me. Going to see how long I can hang on the the bunch for.
  7. Yes, Race 4 Victory specifically state that they are a seeding event for the 94.7. Racetec timed road races close to Joburg before this date are: * Lost City (this weekend. You will need to do a late entry.) * D2D - 7 September * Race 4 Victory - 21 September
  8. Should also be mentioned that there are some races that are not timed by racetec who make arrangements for their results to be used, e.g. Carnival City, but I don't think there are any of these left this year.
  9. ... up to a certain date. (What that date is I don't know.)

No. These typically get sent on the Tuesday before a race.
  11. That might not be wise, as it's also your reponsibility not to ride you bike there: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/141537-off-leash-dogs-emmarentia/
  12. Not sure if you are talking about Ashleigh or not, but she has a pro contract with the Hitec Products team, so I imagine it's that contract that is providing the finacial backing, not family money.
  13. So I was exaggerating a bit when I said "nearly had a head on". I did see him ahead of time, and I exited the line when we got close.
  14. Question about the tree line at Emmarantia that starts at the top dam wall and finishes near the Orange rd entrance (map): is there a stipulated direction on this tree line? I was riding it in a north-east direction and nearly had a head on with someone comming up it in the south west direction.
  15. Thats do-able, You just have to avg 20km/h. I did a 400k last year december in 20hrs. That leaves 4hrs to do another 100. Who's game?
  16. Well done! I sign up to them when I know I'm going to do an Audax.

  18. Strava heat map is useful for finding routes in an area that you don't know. http://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#13/31.05671/-29.71597/blue/bike

    Route videos

Some of you may remember I made a route video, map and elevation profile for the Argus. I've made 3 more videos. (These videos are created by hyperlapsing Google street view images.) Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour Wilro Lions Cycle Challenge 114km Powerade Lost City Classic 115km D2D Cycling Race 104km Bestmed Satellite Classic 106km If there are routes you would like me to make videos of, post a link to the map in this thread, and I'll do my best. Because I use Google street view images, the route has to follow roads where there is street view coverage. This unfortunately excludes most MTB races. I'm working on one for the new 94.7 route. I may take a little while because I'm doing some new stuff to make the video a better quality.
  21. Tip for google maps directions: Click on "Route Options" And then under "Avoid" click on "Highways" (I unfortunately can't recommend any routes.)

Ok It's irritating when they don't put a map of the route on the cycleevents.co.za page. It makes us have to guess, assume, do detective work. So much easier if they just give us a map </rant>
  23. Another important question: how much wind will there be on the day. (If you can figure this out, please let us know )
  24. Awesome, I got one from Hunters tonight, and toe clips and straps, and a bell, and a cycling cap. I'm glad they are out of my way, else my bank balance will start to hurt.
