  1. And the sin taxes and excise duty on cigarettes and tobacco. More than 50% of the price! Booze will follow soon. They need the money.
  2. SAA had a codeshare with either United or Delta on this route. They will gladly step in to fill the slot as they will have plenty spare planes for a while. It was also one of the most profitable routes.
  3. Usually near all the other Biogen products with energy supplements and sports drinks
  4. Dischem is selling Biogen Shammy Cream - 200g tub R49.95. Nice smell and works great. https://www.dischem.co.za/biogen-shammy-cream-200g
  5. We are all holding our breath! 2 teams entered so we are heavily invested in this one. Accommodation paid for, kit ordered, etc. However, the right decision has to be made for everyone's safety.
  6. Just to put a Million, a Billion and a Trillion in perspective, a Million seconds is roughly 12 days, a Billion seconds is a little over 31.7 years and a Trillion seconds is 31 709 years!!!!!!
  7. But some of us can only use 23's! Luckily Naas had stock f the 4000's when I was in town in October.
  8. A good mate of ours. Couldn't find a more solid oke anywhere!
  9. Hi. Tough news but stay positive and rely on the support of those around you. I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 41. They were able to remove the entire tumour (I have the battle scars to prove it) and I went through 6 months of Chemo just to be safe. Nearly 14 years later I am still around to tell the story and this year I will hit my target of 11111kms on the bike for the year! Whatever treatment they propose, you need to just go with the flow and vasbyt. If you do have to go through Chemo, the upside (if you can call it that) is that the side effects for this kind of Chemo are not as hectic as some of the others and other tan feeling tired for 2 or 3 days after the treatment, life will go on as normal but you will need to take it easy on the bike to save energy for your bloods to recover after each treatment. Please feel free to call me on 0837776796 to chat through my experience in more detail once you know what they plan to do to you. On a lighter note, did you enjoy prepping for the colonoscopy? Cheers Daryl
  10. Has anyone tried this? https://tokencycling.co.za/shop/tufo-extreme-sealant/ or this one https://tokencycling.co.za/shop/tufo-tyre-sealant/
  11. Done first thing this morning. Flights booked too. See you all there in March 2019. Now to work out how to stay race fit from Amashova in October right through until CTCT!
  12. I haven't read the entire thread, so if this has been posted already, apologies. I would highly recommend a pair of the "snap-on" reflective straps around your ankles. Most bike shops, sportsstores and even Dischem keep them. I got mine from Dischem for just 15 bucks! They are visible in headlights from well over 100m back and because they are on your ankles, they are moving as you pedal so more likely to be seen. They also weigh next to nothing and you can hardly feel them on.
  13. Flugon Cough Syrup. Dischem. Also recommend Flugon 365 everyday for general cold and flu resistance and ride recovery.
  14. See you there. You won't miss us. We stick out like illuminated rainbows! Spread the word. All welcome.

See you all there. Daryl - Chairman East Coast Cycling Club

  17. I don't see a problem. The perfect honeymoon in Durban!
  18. This is Durban, everything is close! On a serious note, unless you want tio stay on the beachfront, anywhere on the Berea or Morningside is close enough to ride to the start, otherwise if you are happy to drive, give Gary Orman a shout on 0716773552. He has an awesome guesthouse/B&B in Glenwood with views to die for. Tell him Daryl from East Coast referred you. He is one of our members. They have a very nice pool and a pub too! Cheers
  19. Definitley going to give the TUFO Extreme sealant a go. Stans and Giant doesn't do the job. Soon my saddlebag is going to look like a suitcase!
  20. I did come across this somewhere local this morning - R230. Can't find the actual link now. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/gb/tubeless-tyre-patch-kit-plus-super-glue-for-slick-tyre
  21. At first I absolutely loved my Giant Gavia SLR setup. I just laughed at small punctures. Then I got a bigger one. One that you would just chaneg a tube in on a normal tyre. Not so with tubless. After getting covered in sealant while I put in a tube, I then tried patching the tyre from the inside, messy and not so easy. Then you have to reseat the tyre and refill the sealant at R80 a shot fopr Stans or Giant (same thing different label) Mission! After 3 of these bigger punctures, time to throw away an otherwise perfect tyre. R699. Big puncture on th next ride. Repeat of the above. There is no real weight saving as the sealant weighs the same as a tube, plus you have to carry a spare tube, bombs and tyre levers anyway, just in case. My race wheels are not tubless and I just find it easier to use them all the time. However those come with their own set of problems. Anyone else have rusting spokes on their Mavic Cosmics? say no more!
  22. The Marvel is the one that is also made by Tork. It is fine for lighter road bikes. MTB, not so good. I have the PCS 9 and it is as solid as a rock and very stable. After nearly 5 years and regular use, it is still as good as new.
  23. Me three! I was looking for toe covers and went to STS Sports and sadly no more Anatomic. Still have my very first bibshorts I bought from that store. Still going strong after 4 years.
  24. Have fun guys. Sad I'm missing what would have been No. 3 in a row, but with the weather not looking so lekker, also a little relieved! Stay warm an dkeep the rubber-side down.
