  1. The problem with that is you have to pass through a pay point to get to that road on a road bike. Not condoning what happened here but it's a hard sell if the "I didn't know" defence is going to be used.
  2. That sound is loud, I was at close quarters to an arm breaking that way and it is not a sound I would want to hear again.
  3. Where exactly was a knife supposed to be hidden? In the swathes of loose lycra? Outside of that - if that is how they deal with a 'knife wielding thug' I'm bloody surprised more of them aren't stabbed. It was pathetic. There was zero control of the situation and the fact that only one ranger was really involved, while the others stood around looking sheepish and lost, would seem to indicate a less than threatening situation.
  4. Yep sure, other than the witness that took the video of the whole mess. There's your third side right there. It doesn't matter whether he was being a bit naughty or cheeky, that was in no way reasonable force being applied. It was one short fat twat being the tough guy...
  5. That part is not the donkey trail.Accept you made a mistake and move on.
  6. Not yet no, although some people are being little scamps It will open soon(ish) and definitely sometime this year century and you will hear the sighs of relief from every poor sod that has worked on there clear across the western cape There will be some kind of ribbon cutting/official opening when it officially opens.
  7. Yep along with the Vasbyt link.. DH4 to follow this week.
  8. That's a threat with some teeth
  9. Two ladies riding towards Tokai, one was dragged off her bike just after the intersection of Tokai & Zwaanswyk roads by two perpetrators. One hopped on the bike and gapped it leaving his buddy behind. Another rider followed the stolen bike. In the meantime Tokaimtb, Premier Security, SANParks and local security started searching for the bike. The rider that had followed the stolen bike eventually pushed the perpetrator off the bike, leaving him to run off towards Westlake. Premier Security and SANParks effected an arrest of the remaining perpetrator and the bike was returned to the owner. One guy still on the loose. It should be pointed out that numerous attempts were made to call Kistenhof police, they simply did not answer their phone. Basically riders, security companies and Tokaimtb got together and the whole thing was dealt with in six minutes. No thanks to the police...
  10. Bike recovered, one suspect arrested. One suspect escaped towards Westlake.
  11. Great weekend. Liverpool extend their lead, both sets of Mancs lose and Everton drop into the relegation zone.
  12. I was thinking of that Deon guy, dodgy character that one
  13. Tokai is the only place with consistent patrols/monitoring. And that is only because a couple of complete raving lunatics are prepared to put the time and effort in.
  14. I'm four episodes in and loving it.
  15. But radiation transfer is possible, hence the abandonment of many of the vehicles and machines used in the clean up.
  16. I'm not sure how you can over dramatize a reactor meltdown. Having done a little reading after watching the series it is fairly clear that they did turn a couple of the main characters personalities up from 'Guy doing job' to 'Complete hero' but what they did seem to under play a little was the job performed by what the Russians referred to as Liquidators.
  17. The series led me to the book 'Midnight in Chernobyl' which pretty much conveyed the same sequence of events and consequences, allowing a little room for artistic freedom.
  18. There was no mention of those factors when he read the original pay cheque...
  19. Bin dippers isn't banter and isn't funny.
  20. This is the best thing on TV at the moment.
  21. You know my personal battle with Tokai over the last year? No e-biker will ever understand that feeling.
  22. Not the same issues/symptoms as you but all I can say is make time and go to the doctor. I was 'off colour' for months from December 2017, feeling flat, not entirely ill but not right, and ignored all the issues right through to early May 2018. In the end I was forced to go to a specialist as my weight suddenly dropped from 80kg down to 64kg in a two week period.Almost overnight I became too weak to even tie my own laces, needed help to walk across the bedroom etc. Yet even then I was in complete denial that anything was wrong, to the point that when the specialist saw me and told me I had to stay in hospital that night and go in for a procedure the next day I fought like hell to go home (to be fair Liverpool were playing a CL semi final second leg that night, which is really important...). Have to admit when the words necrotic and kidneys are strung together in the same sentence it isn't something you want to hear. Anyhow - long story short, I had 100% kidney failure going on because I had refused to acknowledge the symptoms and had a major aversion to doctors. I never realized just how ill I was and found ways to justify ignoring the symptoms. And that, I was told later, all but killed me. Even after the procedure I was not expected to survive (but no way was I letting my wife off that easy ) The single thing I took from this was - If your body is sending you a message then you need to listen.
  23. After the Hicks and Gillett debacle Liverpool are delighted to still be a going concern.
  24. Oddly people used to like them for that very reason, the madness around that club was fascinating and they had some of the most dedicated fans around (who put up with no end of ridiculous things). But for me, and as far as I can see a lot of other people, it's the cheating that puts you off. Plus all the new glory hunting plastic fans that are suddenly all over social media excusing the cheating and probably more importantly excusing the human rights abuses that seem to be part and parcel of the country that owns the club. If they had reached where they are today in the same way Spurs have they would have garnered so much more respect.
  25. My better halfs mood after that was not good. Not good at all. I was left contemplating the couch as the better, and much safer, option for a while there. Went with waiting out the storm and sitting alone in the lounge as she grumbled her way to sleep. I'm hoping a whole day of GoT debate at work will have calmed her down by this evening.
