  1. hey peeps. I inherited an old Polar FT7 and was happily using that the last 2 odd years and I really only care about my HR for Vitality points. But polar is now discontinuing their polar personal trainer platform so the FT7 will no longer be able to synch with Discovery. Polar are offering a discount of 30% on new product for client retention purposes. i'm purely a weekend warrior and not interested in forking out thousands for a sport watch. I like the idea of an integrated HRM as I hate having to strap on a chest strap each time and then realising you've left some component at home etc, and I understand the wrist HR is not as accurate. would be cool to have integrated GPS rather than Strava through my phone though I like how my phone lies to me about how much I've actually climbed. So question really is has anyone used the Polar M200 specifically and have any dodgy experiences with it?
  2. Whatever you do, avoid a tofu burger. I love tofu, but it does not belong in a burger. Ever! I have yet to try beyond burgers, simply cause I refuse to pay that much for it.
  3. and I can vouch the vegetarian option was very yummy.
  4. Bwaahahaaha sharp. 10 pts.
  5. I thought the experiment around erections would appeal to some men that would not consider the relationship between diet and sexual health.
  6. I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but just watched a programme called The Game Changers on Netflix, specifically about athletes and plant based diet, worth a watch
  7. About to board a flight to Heathrow and then onward to Joburg. Just spent a lovely 2.5 weeks in Croatia. The first week aboard a boat /bike cruise. The group if about 22 people, about 45% on e-bikes. It was tough, in the week I did more elevation than I do in a year, but doable and well worth it. Highly recommend. I saw some mtb route signs but I'd hazard those are more suitable for better skilled enduro type riding.
  8. I gain watts just because he follows me on Instagram
  9. In Chinese (Cantonese at least, and from what I've been exposed to growing up, and loosely translated, a Chinese person was just that, a person, were as everyone else was a ghost..Black ghost, white ghost.
  10. i don't have that ring that slides off. I want one. True to Uni doffnes, I've done a dumb on this fork... i don't care / need to have remote lockout, but currently fork is sitting on locked, permanently, with that "thingamabob" LBS can hold it open for me, without having to replace a bunch of other stuff. ( anyone that makes any sense of that ... kudos )
  11. i need this thingamabob. what to convert a RockShox reba fork to manual lockout or do away with the remote lockout bits and bobs entirely
  12. This morning a group of parkrun tourists were trying to find their way to our parkrun, so they asked some SAPS members, the cop gave them his personal phone with directions and told them to bring it back when they're done.

  14. I was there 2 weeks ago they has a fun criterium event on and the guy said they do rent out bikes. Check their Facebook page they do post upcoming stuff on there.
  15. I have no opinion on Cyclelab or bike stores in your area however back in the day (2014) I bought a Silverback Splash 1 for R6700 and I happily rode that for 2 years. My sister has inherited the bike now and while she doesn't ride it that often, the other weekend I took it for a spin, and while the shifting might not be as smooth as what I've become accustomed to, the bike still does the job and I had a smile on my face. Ride it enjoy it. PS in your pic the saddle looks very low, make sure the bike fits you, that's more important..I had a bike shop let me, as a noob walk out buying a medium when i'm only 1.63 in height.
  16. Something that's relevant this time of the year, many of us start the new year with gusto and filled with good intentions and quickly lose steam. The question to ask ...what if this time I don't quit. I've been following the keto ways this year, even to the point where I started eating meat again after over 12 years of not. And I've reached a point of starting to crave things and if I succumb. I can feel my body wanting more and more. Yet 8 months of clean Keto I had zero cravings. Onwards... and keep laughing
  17. just a heads up as well, if you're on the main dirt road just after where the trails start, there's a private residence on the left up the road, there's a medium sized brown dog that runs around loose, haven't encountered him on weekends but the other day during the week he came running after me and i opted to slow down but not stop, he gave up and then came at me again, but fortunately no issues. i did give a heads up to BRB as it would be super dangerous especially with the number of trail runners and kids around.
  18. They've actually remarked the routes, if you follow 1 or 2 now you'll be fine There's no more of that confusing 2s , 2b stuff
  19. Mate in UK had his 3 bikes stolen out of his shed over the weekend. He already spotted one on gumtree but that ad disappeared. Interestingly cops weren't interested in getting info on seller from gumtree, he had to try get it himself. Then also, he phoned today to sort out insurance and it was approved just about immediately and he's getting about £1500 more than he paid for the three bikes combined. Nothing else was taken from the shed.
  20. I found a bruised ego ... was that yours?

  22. Filed Thursday , refund in my account on Saturday.
  23. I'd agree there's explicit MTB routes and walking routes and we shouldn't blur those lines. Of course there are a few of the jeep track bits that are shared. I once tried to make my way out via the tar road as I was cramping and a reserve dude saw me and crapped me out . Even to the point of telling me to ride the wrong way up the ST rather than go on a route that's not for MTB. With the reserve no longer under management by nature reserve people, if we start doing whatever we want, soon enough it will be a free for all mess. There's still people riding against the new direction change even when it's pointed out to them.
