Not rules per say but coming from a weekend warrior that is bound to be "in your way" at some point don't assume we can hear you coming up - speak up if you want to pass. I'm more than happy to stop and pull over if you just make your intention known. if you're in a group - it's a nice heads up to say 4 passing on your right or something to that effect. please don't ride up someone's arse just because you think you're in control. Don't be a bully. don't request to pass me when 100m down the trail you've stopped anyway - and then we play cat and mouse again. leave no trace - if you take crap on the trails - take them home with you - even if it's "organic" i do appreciate the people that ask "are you ok" when i'm stopped at the side of the trail - but at least slow down to wait for an answer - or don't bother? don't make detours around puddles etc - ride the damn puddle - all you're doing is destroying the trail. Don't ride the trails after a lot of rain. pay to use the trails that are pay to use.

If it's his land , he's entitled to protect it from trespasses.

this is from when they reopened the trails at level 3. wildebeest and zebra and bokkies all just chilling on the plains. I think they enjoyed lockdown. Also the usual ground squirrels and a blue crane on that ride. Will be sad to see it all go. *** photo because far away but still, i stopped and enjoyed the view for a good while.

Please do contact trail builder David and share your thoughts and complaints. I do believe that he's trying hard to make the MTB trails better - and sadly it's the people that go there that f u k it up for everybody, and simply not going means we're gonna lose another urban trail /park . With the neighbourhood shopping centre next door, i've noticed many moms drop off their kids on their bikes and go off for coffee or whatever, and the kids run amok and it gets classified as "cyclist" being rude. Problem exists at all shared spaces. At Huddlepark I've been arguing with them about saying all dogs must be on a lead and only well behaved dogs can be off lead..you can't have subjective laws. In the past few weeks a kid on a bike was bitten by a dog, and a dog got attacked by another dog. Theres poop all over the bike paths, there's moms that drop their kids off with their bikes and go off to shop or have coffee and these kids are pushing their bikes up trail run only routes and up jump lines as well. We don't want a nanny state but it seems most people simply aren't interested in policing themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised. With the weather being good atm. I asked the fourways market people and their arguement was that there's hectares of land which is true but the people are all milling around standing in queues for food , not on the trails. It's still better than a mall but In personally still opting to avoid the trails over weekends.

I think it's the Fourways "market" with the food trucks that are drawing the crowds over the weekends.

was also there yesterday. lots of Kiewiets around defending their nests especially around the bottom bit of the cleared reeds. I just slow down and go around them, no issues.

I also tried to get one in June and they told me they would have demo stock soon and they'd let me know, they haven't yet.
