  1. I have seen these at my LBS in P.E. I think that they are pretty standard as I have swopped them between pumps made by different manufacturers.
  2. They should make quite a formidable team. She may be a roadie but this is certainly not her first mtb race.
  3. Finished building her yesterday. Can't wait to go for a test ride. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon.
  4. To the best of my knowledge - No.
  5. The XO grip shifter is amazing. The shifting is smooth and precise. I have XO trigger shifters on my other bike and the gripshift wins hands down. And like the CPT said if you suddenly need to change to an easy gear you just grab a handfull of shifter and twist. It can change from the 11t to the 40t with one twist.
  6. Hi Steven I am going to move the components from my Scott Genius over to the 5 Spot. Will be 1x10 with a Sram X9 clutch rear deraileur with a XO gripshift and a Hope 34t retainer chainring up front. I've always felt a bit cramped on the Genius and the HA ia quite steep. The top tube on the 5 Spot is 8cm longer and the HA quite a bit slacker.
  7. This just arrived for me. Can't wait to start building, but will need a few parts like short stem and new seatpost first.
  8. Expect to wait 3-4 weeks. I have ordered twice, paid for extra postage the 2nd time hoping to get it sooner but it was a waste of money, still took over 3 weeks.
  9. I ordered mine directly from Oneup. I don't think that there is a local supplier. You can get the Wolftooth rings locally but they don't come with the 16t.
  10. I used to have a Manitou R7 on a Morewood Zula. A very nice fork, light and smooth. I think that Manitou is very underated in S.A.
  11. I have I have removed quite a few forks and replaced several headsets, and I have never seen a seal at the bottom of the head tube. My son's Cannondale Flash looks way worse than that as you can actually see the bearing. The bearing is packed with grease and sealed. Just don't spray water with high pressure in that area.
  12. There should not be a seal at the bottom of the head tube. It is right like it is.
  13. No I did not, but I am speaking from experience. I have tried to patch a Maxxis Icon which had a sidewall cut. I cleaned it thoroughly and could not get the patch to stick, I even took it to several places that do vulcanizing and they could not help me. If it works for you great, but IMHO it is not necessary to remove a perfectly good plug to try and patch the inside of the tyre. The plug is designed to block the hole and it does just that.
  14. A plug is way more permanent than a patch on the inside of the tyre. In many cases a patch will not stick on the inside of a tyre. If it bugs you take a black permanent marker and color it in.
  15. If you are putting a 42t on the back then you really should look at putting a 34t on the front, maybe a 32t if you really ride a lot of very big hills. With a 30t in front I think that you will be spinning out often.
  16. Oh no not another Q&A turned into "I hate Avids thread"........ At least the Avid's are serviceable. Contact the original supplier, you might have to courier the brakes to them to sort out. But that is the price you pay for not butying local.
  17. Scratches are quite high up so you may get away with it. Maybe add a bit more air to make them a bit firmer. Otherwise a fork upgrade may be in order.
  18. In his book, The Mountainbikers Training Bible, Joe Friel advocates training with weights.
  19. I really don't think a tap that size will be readily available. If you could find one it would probably cost a fortune. Maybe your lbs can help.
  20. I'm not that clued on road bikes but I'm sure I saw somewhere that with the road wheels most will take an 11 speed cassette, as the spacing is just closer together. Not like a MTB cassette where you need a special hub to take the 10t gear. But yes not 100% sure.
  21. Unfortunately the smallest you can go with a 120bcd crank is 36t. A 104 bcd crank gives you more options and a wider variety to choose from, but to replace the crank is so damn expensive. If the area you ride in is not too hilly you should look out for a 36t 120 bcd chainring.
  22. Such nice bikes, I just hope Cannondale can come up with a better plan for the cable routing in the future. There are some 2011 bikes with internal cable routing and the 2014 Scalpels still don't have?
  23. Contact Naas at Evobikes and ask him when they will have stock again.
