  1. Would there be any objections to me posting some pics of my track bikes under this thread?
  2. In the TV lounge next to the bar fridge!
  3. P.S. Where did you get your decals from?
  4. Those Nervex lugs look great and deserve to be chromed. Well done, the frame looks amazing. Any reason the BB lug was not chromed? I am asking as I don't know. Will check my parts supply and let you know if I can assist.
  5. Agree with 3kbike, we don't even get coverage on TV for the ladies races.
  6. Thanks for all the advice guys, I have the same issue with using a NOS set of Mavic Hellium wheels I picked up a few months back. Badsam, those wheels look great and it's going to be a great looking bike when you finished.
  7. That Alan looks like it is in VGC. One of my Alan track bikes has the same oval top tubing.
  8. I guess. Technology moves on and man's ability to shape and strengthen materials has allowed great advances in bicycle parts. I am always amazed at just how heavy some old BB and crank sets were compared to some new hollow tech group sets today. These type of bikes are not my thing but the Lotus shape is growing on me. You will recall the Banesto Pinarello we restored a few weeks ago was also in this same shape. The three bikes are going to make a pretty picture.
  9. Unfortunately the frames are not mine. I will have the privilege to restorer them for a mate and have the first test ride.
  10. And so after months of searching we finally obtained a Lotus and Giant time trial frames. Thank you very much to the seller for agreeing to sell these beauties. Be assured that they are in safe hands and we will restore them back to their former glory. The task of finding the correct period group sets now begins. So lock up your better halves and allow us into your stores.
  11. Just finished this rebuild of a lovely old Look KG66!
  12. Just finished this retro Look KG66 with a modern Record/Bora Ultra feel:
  13. Thanks! A few month ago I let a pair of Bora One's slip me by and now I am so sorry. The Eurus wheels are great and remain true even after hitting a serious pothole which destroyed a Schwalbe Ultremo.
  14. It looks like I need some Bora One's!
  15. Very nice. Please switch the skewer closure levers to the non drive side of the bike. Just looks better on the other side. What did you do with all the bits you took off the De Rosa?
  16. That is a super cool Alan! Can't wait to see on the track.
  17. Limp idea! Only one bathroom for three bedroom dwelling.
  18. Oh cheer up fellows. I have seen your latest purchases, you can't hide.
  19. Here is the write up on my Stronglite quill stem from my Vitus 979: http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=dd598fc1-804a-4ecb-9f17-f923289f09e4
  20. HeyYou, certainly doesn't look like an Alan. I was thinking Vitus but can't recall those lugs on the Vitus either. I think it is a Peugeot carbon frame made by Look. Hold on to that seat post as they are very Hens Teeth!
  21. Same badge as on my 60's and 80's track bikes. Ibex, are you sure the tandem is from the 70's? The cotter pin cranks would lead me to think so but the oversized down tube and flared headset confuse me!
  22. The best frames for building a SS or fixie are old track bikes. The horizontal dropouts allow you to tension the chain without resorting to any chain tensioners or pulleys. With road bikes it can be a hit or miss whether the chain tensions correctly.
  23. Yes, auto correct functioning
  24. From my vantage point on the couch it's neither. Looks like a dick wheel!
  25. Almost thought you bought an Alan
