  2. Nice one Wes, sounds like you are going to be able to throw down some whoop ass on that puppy! Looking forward to the inaugrable ride, maybe you should have a "All Mountain Bike - no longer myth but REALITY" celebratory ride with some hubbers....
  3. If you can, do the work yourself and cut them out of the picture - monkeys!
  4. Fleming Do you not find that you bend seat posts on that bike? Awesome build by the way, great attention to detail!
  5. Best jacket for winter riding - A BEER JACKET
  6. Huh what? Tell me more!!!!!!
  7. Hairy, I have a mate who has a 150 Talas and DHX air upgrade (DHX Air is my ultimate upgrade to my Shova) on his Shova 2010 and swears by it! Also with the slightly longer stroke of the DHX it partners up nicely with the 150 fork. If you keep running the RP23 you may have to bump up the pressue 10PSI or so as the bike weight will be rear biased. I recon its a well good idea, 150 Revelation here YOU come....
  8. Simple, Ibis Mojo, buy it walk away
  9. 1x Shova ST.... Best bike I have ever ridden Now just to convince Patrick to make me a Ti Shova with a couple tweaks and I will never have to buy another bike again!
  10. Scarey thing is I saw him hop a fallen while we were riding in Jonkershoek, tree at hip height, he hopped it on his 6" full sus trail bike, at pace..... skills!
  11. Time to move cities....
  12. Neither. Mavic Freehub's are luss to service all the time (bushing at the back wears out) and I have heard the XT's just don't hold shape. have a set hand built and you will not look back. Hope Pro 2's with ZTR or Mavic Rims and DT Swiss double butted spokes...easy! Otherwise Chris Kings if you have a bit of tom to lash out...
  13. The crew he was working with kind of limited what he could do - they had a very specific (german) idea of what they wanted, so the creativity wasn't there as much as when he rides with mates back home. Dude still has skills, just makes it look so damn easy. Keep an eye out, Danny is busy filming with Anthill - I rate that section is going to be top notch in their next film
  14. I know exactly what you should get as a beginner - a hard tail 26er with flat bedals. Learn to ride that and then, only then will you know how to ride a bike properly without accumulating any bad habits!
  15. Oh man these are pretty - do you have them with a 170mm Crank arm length?
  16. Ok guys, so tally up how much we all want to spend and lets see if we can make it over the R2500 odd amount for free postage. I am keen for a rim @ +/- R550. So keep a running total? R550+............ (Isuppose I could always be persuaded to buy 1 more item )
  17. HEY enough *** praat - more pich-us
  18. Yes, wearing panties that are too tight is a definite problem in this world! I vote we cut them off with scissors, post the video on FaceTube and make a point of going commando!
  19. A question - was / is this wheel a parts picked (and agonised over), hand built variety or is it a standard factory / machine built individual? If it is the latter you may have got a dud, inferior material quality??? If it is the former, well then I am not sure cause if the wheel is built correctly it should last yonks. Maybe just have the wheel respoked by a wheel builder and go for some straight gauage 2.0 spokes? It may boil down to the way you ride. Maybe you move on the bike or the bike moves in the air that puts more loading on the wheel developing weak areas in the spokes....if this is possible?
  20. So whats the deal dudes - we ordering or not? Anyone found an order to tack onto????
  21. I've always used the free postage. Its pretty good, efficient up the point it arrives in SA....then customs, SA postage system takes over and causes the delays. Generally if it is only parts being ship it is quicker, clothing takes longer and you pay extra duty on it - that is over and above VAT when it arrives. As far as stolen parcels - I would hope not and try to think not as it has a tracking number etc etc etc. But anything is possible...
  22. Formula all the way! Have ridden a bike with the new X0's and they come as close to the Formula's as I have seen in a while....
  23. Yeah dudes, I need a rim and it is disgusting what they want to charge here.... Ticaloca, will keep my ears open, there were rumblings amongst some mates this weekend!
  24. As much as I hate to say, the Spaz is a better buy. Double and Bash all the way! Look that model Meta is still a good bike and the rear end on the older models is stiffer than the boomerang version. If you buying from a dealer who can give you a warranty its always a bonus. Johan Bornman now has the agency for Zokes forks, and in my opinion the dude knows what he's doing. So Zokes forks and non servicing are a thing of the past. They are a bit heavy though, but can take a beating! If you know what you are buying second hand, then it should be fine.
  25. Meta 5.5 and don't look back. Changing the fork is something that can happen in time. But I suppose it all depends what the spec of the Spaz is...
