  1. Do you want to compete or do you just want to say that you did it? Because if you are not intending to compete in a world cup race maybe it is better not to do the world cup race and let someone with future potential go in your place. These races are not for fun riding but for serious competitors only.
  2. Thank goodness not all are too sissy to stand up for what is right otherwise these criminals would be more rampant. The sissies should roll over and let their stuff be stolen and they can call their actions wise, that is fine, but those who have the guts to fight back should be thanked.
  3. Vigilant or giving up your freedom? And then the crime will just move to another spot. MTBjacker today, house breaker tomorrow.
  4. Entitled? Yes. Safe? No. Wise? No.
  5. This should have happened long ago. There are MANY rogue riders, it is not only a few. These landowners that agreed to prosecute are extremely generous to do so - to take on legal action and the associated cost and effort with it - if it was me (and I assume most landowners would do the same) I would just ban mtb riding on my land. We should be grateful for these landowners for not banning all mtb riders.
  6. The Use suspension seatposts are better.
  7. No you`re thinking of a cracked frame.
  8. Good advice, but, if they can`t get victims in the mountain, they will get their victims somewhere else. Giving up your freedom of movement does not help.
  9. The gang on Sir Lowry`s will take you too. Their intentions is to kidnap you via your car boot.
  10. When my friend was travelling in Switzerland on a bus he asked a fellow passenger if his bicycle would be safe from theft in the cargo hold of the bus. The passenger`s eyes went big with fear and asked: "Do you think there is a thief on the bus?", and wanted to inform the driver.
  11. My boss from the Netherlands, when I told him about the crime in SA, he laughed and said in his city there are bicycles floating around not owned by anyone but that are used around the city by anyone and not needed to be locked, like communal bicycles. This would not be possible in SA. Why? Because that bike will get stolen properly in less than half a day.
  12. So the crime is not more dangerous just more violent?
  13. The increasing crime will not kill the sport but it will take away your freedom to ride where you want. There will be less safe places to ride, and no the gym does really count as a safe place to ride for me, it is only a safe place to do mind-numbingly boring training.
  14. People from overseas are always shocked to find out it is not safe to ride on your own in SA because they simply are not exposed to the same crime levels overseas.
  15. In SA there is a much better chance that you will be killed, and/or raped if you are a woman, but you say "It is simply not true that cycling is more dangerous here in terms of crime", this does not make sense.
  16. Sorry this is not the same everywhere in the world, if this happened in Europe or US the police would have taken the scumbags out asap, but here crime pays, and the thugs sit there and await their next victim without fear.
  17. Kids do not care about bling like this. Kids are very easy to please, but in general kids bikes are very very heavy.
  18. NOT PROOF AT ALL!!! Roadies shave their arms....
  19. How lucky is this dude to be alive?
  20. I usually just say something bad about the brand or model bike and then get on with riding. This is what I get from mates when I get a new bike so it`s all good.
  21. I have a medium Silverback Storm for sale in excellent condition with SID fork and Stans Crest wheels and full XT for R17000.
  22. It is so nice to just go ride with friends.
  23. I also got this after 18 months. I think it is old puncture holes that causes the sealant to move into the layers of the rubber causing bubbles. The Ikon is a great tire that I found to outlast a RacingRalph by x3. All my Ikons have lasted more than a year for me so far.
  24. Push her up the hills or attach an elastic strap or rope to her bike and pull her up the hills.
  25. 2 Lights are much better than one but if only one then on the helmet is better than the handlebar. Something with many lumens (1200+) and a wide beam on the handlebar and then the lightweight Ryder Orion (800 lumens) for on the helmet is what I am thinking of getting.
